most important with s/c belts is length within the tensioners ability. dont max it out like guitar strings. like suspension it needs give both ways. too tight breaks shit. too loose burns belts and low boost. page 1 is a great reference.

I just checked, had the right belt on: 5PK1765

From page one: “69.5 for smaller pullies (2.5") 5PK1765 5050695
Available in Dayco brand, Bando, Goodyear Gatorback, or Continental”

@Billy182 hoping to get your roller bearing knocked out today or tomorrow and get it to the post office this weekend.

Anyone know why the AFE instructions would mention a CARB EO number? I want one badly!

The molding they give you to go around the fender opening is pathetic by the way!

How small is too small? 2.1 vs 1.8 pulley? Any thoughts?

On the first post there is an efficiency map. So I think once you start getting around 2.7 or smaller the amount of heat you are generating is going to need additional cooling to be "worth" it per say. I've been running my 2.85 for so long now I don't think I'll ever go smaller. Not worth the headache to me to figure out what size belt/pulley setups I'll need not to mention the additional stress on the motor

@9kfever My guess is the text in the instructions is generic and it's a typo for out trucks :( Or maybe they were trying to get approved and somehow got denied.

I'm on 2.7 now. I already had a wrap mod on this so I don't mind throwing it back on. Then new belt, injectors tune, meth injection.. will be doing my bearings this break so might as well downsize.

It all depends on multiple factors. Altitude plays a big roll because of the air density. Pulley size on crank and supercharger (or supercharger RPM's). If I recall, @Norton would be a great example. High altitude with a smaller pulley and has the same or less boost that us "close to sea level" hoonigans, I mean enthusiasts.
Well, its late for the west coast, so good night and I hope when I read this in the morning it still makes sense.

I cut a 1" thick piece of heat resistant foam into a makeshift gasket between the air box and the fender opening.

@Athlaos and I are living at 2200' and 3428' respectively.

In my opinion water and/or meth injection is a must.

Cams are probably a huge help in Athlaos case, along with lots of meth and fueling.

I'm on 2.3 pulley with meth, a somewhat ported supercharger, smoothed intake runner, headers, catless, etc and due to elevation I don't think I've ever come close to maxing out my maf.

I believe it was because aFe was the manufacturer of the TRD Gen1 intake.....which is the same as the aFE cold air intake that you have.

The TRD Gen1 intake has a CARB EO #....which would technically apply to yours.

Just swap on the TRD lid and use the TRD carb eo #.

Got my tundra oil fill neck on today, it looks a lot better:

While I was in there, I noticed how ugly that damn SAI is. I guess I’ll add removing that to my list, all I’ll have to do is buy more hptuner credits and get to work.
While searching around the forum, I noticed HT Hewitt was making a bypass kit, has anyone used that, or just write it off the ecu with hptuners?

795' here so probably close to where you are. Ultimately trying to search for some more go. I'm not downsizing tires lol. So you're telling me I can consider larger because I'm closer to sea level. Hmmm. And if I stay smol and tune for that necessary fuel and timing? Possibly moar power?

Meth yeah! I will follow suit and take time to port now. My co worker has a lot of porting tools from his drag days luckily so I'm going this route. I do however worry about our maf. I know there's calculators out there for maf diameter. I guess I'll need to compare to others at sea level. I was hoping to have finite responses but not so simple.

@Murphinator I knew I wanted more power. I'll feel okay as long as fuel/timing/cooling are accounted for. The 1GR is fairly stout.

Do these trucks (2nd gen specifically) have a "Clear Flood Mode"?

For those who may not know (this is a new one for me), CFM allows you to run the starter with the fuel and electricity disabled from going to the motor. In other words, it will not start.

Why, you ask? Well, the obvious, to clear the combustion system of water if you are in a "flood". But the reason I ask is, this would be a great way to pre-fill the oil filter after a change, before starting the engine.
