    While at Firestone, I had them check out a weird noise I've been hearing when the truck first starts rolling and gets "higher" as it picks up speed.

    Kind of sounds like metal on metal possibly, but not sure.

    They checked the front brakes, all is well there. Checked the rear drum brakes and said they are bad and need to be changed. Said they couldn't really hear anything when the took it out for a spin.

    So I had them do the rear drum brakes since they were bad according to them. Maybe that was the noise... Guess we'll see what happens when I pick it up.

    Not sure to be honest.

    They said they were bad/low and needed to be replaced since they checked them as well because of the noise, so...

    I think the pads/shoes or whatever the heck is back there was bad from what I remember the guy saying.

    True that. Plus the truck only has 96k on it, and I plan on making it last forever.

    Not to mention the way the car market is nowadays... gotta make it last. Don't feel like buying something else and bury myself in more debt.

    How many miles on those rear brakes ? I have 157000 on my rear brakes. That’s the next thing I’m having done also . Drums ,shoes and all the other crap that goes along with a rear brake job .

    I have over 252k on mine. Rear brakes are original. Serviced a few years ago because the parking brake was sticking and was told they looked fine once cleaned up and lubed.:notsure:

    Edit: just looked back on my records. A few yrs ago turns out to be Sept 2019 (188k on the odo) . Over 4 yrs and 64k miles ago. :eek:

    Happy Belated Birthday @bucktales
    Still have this viralent cold, it just won't quit. Tried frying it with a bunch of salsa & some chicken gumbo soup with jalapeno's. Tried sleeping it out of the system. Tried Dayquil & Nyquilling it - the Dayquil tried to kill me. So now I'm just ignoring it.
    Left work early, came home & mowed the lawn & leaves. Looks niiiice now.
    Weather so nice I put on a hi-vis vest & took a walk after the lawn. Amazing how late people realize you're in the road in front of them & that's wearing a yellow hi-viz.
    Sitting out a funeral tomorrow, don't want to get everyone sick with whatever this nasty thing is.
    Okay, all caught up for 2023. Happy Friday all, even if Nuno is sad it's Friday.
