Lotsa good ideas from the folks here. Standouts in my world that are inexpensive: buzz-buzz (oscillator) and 5” sander.
Standouts that are expensive: flexvolt tracksaw, flexvolt 7-1/4 wormdrive (it’s a beast!), dch293 rotary hammer drill (hits harder than a bulldog and has a clutch so you don’t rip your arm off when the 4” holesaw catches), and last but not least, the 4 battery powerstation that makes AC.
I want the snub nosed impact, but one of mine has to break before that gets bought.
Luxury would be the cordless router, but I really can’t justify that given my, um, pre-existing router problem.

Nice! Quieter and blow-ier than the 772, which kicks ass. And a bigger battery in that kit…

Not recently, but I got my wife this one a few years ago.

 

Interesting, hadn't seen it announced anywhere. The battery location on that is fugly. Also the intake is much less protected than the 772.

 

What are the chances of this guy dying shortly after the 3/8" quitting? These all get used all day long..



I'm looking for a deal on a replacement for the both in the Atomic Series. Unfortunately I can't find any for a 3/8" impact, only for 1/2".

Saw this battery welder on Dewalts Instagram, but I guess it was released back in August-ish? Crazy that only 10 years ago in college I was laughed at asking if battery portable welders were in our near future. Told it wasn't possible.

 

which is even more insane considering that many of the original burning man people were welding up stuff using linked up car batteries even back then. i mean, welding with a car battery has been a thing in backyard garages since at least the 1960's.

but this might be the first official battery-welder from a reputable company

 

Need to do some tree trimming and was looking into this pole saw instead of using my chainsaw and ladder.

In order to garage the 3rd car I am midway through converting my workshop to being 100% on wheels. I can just back the car out, spend the day playing with the tools, and then put everything back. So since I had to sell the old mammoth stationary table saw I decided to sell most of my tools and pick a family. Obviously since I’m on this thread I went with yellow. The table and miter saws are corded as is the air compressor for the nail gun. The circular saw, router, drill, and driver are all 20V as will be the sander and jigsaw once I convert those. I’m iust a home DIY’er looking for my soon to be retirement hobby (I don’t golf) and I’m happy with the brand. The only non-Dewalt things I’m keeping from before are my cabinet band saw and drill press.

 

First time posting here! Grabbed this at Home Depot today for $150 + Uncle Sam’s cut. I’ve already got the Atomic Drill, so I don’t mind the smaller tools, especially since I just do DIY and I’m not a tradesman by any stretch. I figure these will make wrenching on my motorcycle and truck a lot easier! Still kicking myself slightly because I really shouldn’t be spending the money this month, but I figured I couldn’t pass up the deal.

 

Atomic ratchet is my favorite DeWalt tool. My garage/shop burnt to the ground over the summer leaving me with zero tools. As the need arises I've been buying all DeWalt 20v items as replacements. The pole saw and jig saw are my other favorites so far.

 

There is also a pole saw attachment for the outdoor power equipment multi-head that may be worth looking into if you're have use for a cordless weed wacker, hedge trimmer, or edger. Its not quite as long though.

Anybody have hands-on experience with the various sawzalls? My old (non-brushless, 20v) is getting tired and in need of a refresh.

The 60v flexvolt (dcs389) appeals to me because power, but the fact that I’d always have to hang a slightly heavy 6ah battery is a downside. Price is totally reasonable on the big-river webstore at the moment.

The 20v brushless (dcs382) seems like a normal choice and a slight upgrade from what I have now.

Not really on my radar are the compact (dcs367) or the atomic one-handed (dcs369), but I’m listening if you have opinions.

 

have the 367, i really enjoy the form factor and saws great. I dont use it all that often so i may not be the best to tell you about longevity, and the only thing i can compare it to is my old 18v nicd model.
