I get a vehicle allowance for work and have a 2022 OR right now... If I get a hybrid vehicle I get an extra $250 a month for my vehicle allowance... My plan was TRD PRO and I wouldn't be paying any more buuut that's looking unlikley. sigh

No, I didn't see a way to get heated/cooled softex and a sunroof. I feel like those two options are usually together in other packages.

Standing next to the "sewing machine" motor in a Highlander doesn't give me the most hope for this "truck".

I currently have a 16 and want to get 10 years out of it. Then I plan to pick up a TRD PRO in about 2 or 3 years from now depending on pricing. Anything north of 60k is ridiculous.

I'm thinking a TRD PRO will start around 55-57 range. It's my understanding the limited and TRD PRO are not for apart so. Anything north of 60k would be ridiculous.

I mean, anything north of $50k is ridiculous once you start actually comparing the 4th gen Tacoma to other trucks.

Why does the 5.0 V8 in the F150 get the same MPG as this 3.5 turbocharged 4 banger?

    The 5.0l gets worse mileage.

    F150 V8 gets 17 / 24 with 400 hp with 410 lb-ft

    Tacoma 2.4 gets 19 / 24 with 278 HP with 317 lb-ft

Are you using 2wd numbers vs 4wd? Gotta dig in and not just use google’s scrape

    IMG_5702.jpg

    Toyota’s numbers for a 2wd SR5 are 21/26/23, which seems better than the 5.0l

I feel like you'll are splitting hairs here. Fact is the V8, better or not, is close. It shouldn't even be a discussion that is possible.

+1 to @OpeCity for being correct
+1 to @batt700 for proving a valid enough point

-100,000 to us who didn't care and are now sad.

For the record, my 4x4 V6 does like 15/20 if i'm lucky, and does not have 400 hp. Lifetime best tank avg. after 7 years of ownership, 19.4 MPG.

Yeah these 2.4 MPG numbers seem laughably low, my brothers TT ecoboost 3.5 v6 F150 gets 21 mpg ez with 400 hp.

I wonder what the Tundy TTv6 would get in a Taco. The 389hp version would be enough.

Wild how the 2024 Tundra is rated at basically the same MPG as the new Tacoma.

Just makes no logical sense to me

My question about all this MPG talk is why isn’t everyone up in arms about the 3rd Gen, which gets even lower MPG with even less power and torque?
