Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Just got back from power washing it. Put it up on the jack and did a full undercarriage inspection, and greased the 5 zerks on the driveline. Early 2016 model so it has 5 zerks.

All suspension components, cv axles, wheel bearings, are tight.

No leaks anywhere. Drives like new.

2016 TRD OR, 75K miles, about 20K off road miles on 150+ trips.

Only repairs to this truck were 2 years ago installing a new driver side wheel hub, cv axle, and inner needle bearing replacement after a bad hit into a too deep washout at speed when I was busy enjoying the view down into a valley.

Overall in pretty good condition considering the beating this truck takes. I am retired, so it is used primarily for off road to find remote fishing lakes, and to go buy a jug of milk or case of beer when needed.

That actually makes more sense in the context of the post.

Do you spray your frame with a rust preventer at all? Did you get your high pressure fuel pump or vacuum pump replaced yet? I think you said part was on order. Can’t remember which one. You were having an issue a month or so ago.

The high pressure fuel pump (in engine) checked out so it was not replaced. I have had no repeat issues since that original one at the high elevation lake. I did put in a new PCV in a week after that and it noticeably improved engine performance so that might have been the issue. The one plug that had some oil on it has been clean since.

No undercoat spray on the truck other than what it came with when I bought it used in 2018. Clear that it was done when new as all the frame is coated black. Plus that job Toyota did a year ago as part of the extended warranty for rust protection. The only rust is very light on the rear axle (barely any) and on the leaf springs.

Took my truck into Toyota for rotation/fluidcheck ... 1-car garage is too small for putting it on struts. Said "no oil change".

Just noticed the "oil change reminder" sticker on my windshield. They are either "foolishly optimistic" or they did not listen and swapped out my Pennzoil. o_O

Damn! Need to see if they did change oil and lost the black clip on my Fumoto!

Sweet looking truck! I was gonna go the same route with the Prinsu racks had I not found a trailer for my RTT.

It reinforces the front differential mount. Welds_Taco makes the kit.

Ahh. Ok. Didn’t know about this one. What’s the issue/need for this?

When you go 35”+ tires and wheel hard it puts a lot of pressure on the differential mount and it will break the frame where the diff mounts to.

It’s not a super common problem but it does happen. I’ve wheeled pretty damn hard and haven’t had an issue. This is just preemptive

Yeah, I have mine here, still in the box. Building up my nerve to tackle that job. Also waiting on my brother to get some space in his shop.

The clutch and brake pedals slip on- they're a pain to put on, but they fit. The gas pedal uses a metal rod with a pin to secure it on, which as you know, our pedal is plastic. I reworked mine to fit it.
