Truck driver b.s.

Day is done, 47 hours for the week so far, still have to work tomorrow. I hope it's a short one. Got my Christmas turkey from work today.

Ha ha, no I wish, I was off so this is my weekend to work. No worries, I'll take their money! I'm almost done, it'll be about 4.5 hours.
A friend is coming over today to help me move a 400 lb piece of machinery into my basement wood shop. New tool day! Upgraded my planer.

 

Off today, then work Monday and Tuesday, then off for 6 days!

 

Any other job offers ? Or just waiting until after the holidays to continue looking ?

 

I'm always looking, but I'm not willing to accept the wages they are offering. I see a slow down in the work force and the good jobs just don't have any openings. So I'm kinda stuck where I'm at for the time being. Another factor is my age, most companies don't want to hire a senior in my area. I may be stuck where I'm at, as much as I hate it at times, for the next 3 years 8 months until I retire.
The smart me says to just suck it up and work the long hours and make the money to pay my stuff off so I can retire when I want to.
But then there's my I don't give a shit go fuk yourself side. My tolerance for bullshit is non existent.
So I just take things one day at a time. We are slow right now but it'll probably get real busy again after the holidays. I'll be working long hours that I hate and that just wears me out. But it's a job, a shitty one, but it's a job. And the work force here is replacing everyone with cheap Mexican labor.
So.......

 

Yeah, I get the age thing, be 63 right around the corner, I know what you mean on all counts.

 

Wow. I take a semi to dead end streets in the rural hills al the time. If I refused deliveries like that I would bring everything back lmao

 

I know, I worked for Dayton freight and residential deliveries where just made with a straight truck with a lift. But it was or is the requirements of the seller, not the trucking company. Ironically who did I pick it up from? Dayton freight, lol.

Only 2 day work week this week so I have to endure and get through it. Never trust a fart!

It rained last night then froze so all he roads are ice sheets. Poor dog went out this morning and about slid off the deck it was so slick.

 

I'm done and I'm off for 7 days!!!
