When I retire I am gonna drive everywhere at 45mph in the left lane, shoot the shit at the counter in line at bojangles every morning for 20 minutes before I order, ask to see and handle every gun at cabelas with no intention of buying one while paying customers wait behind me and then complain about the prices on my way out. Still working in the rest of the list but that’s a good start I think.

There's no shortage of "testers" 'round here, thats for sure. Broke a bag out for lunch yesterday, and you would've thought I was bringing out the last vegetable mini chopper from Walmart during a 1990's Black Friday. Had coworkers lined up throwing themselves at me to get a bite, fighting each other, and even offering to pay lol. You would've thought I put crack-cocaine in em! Told myself I was gonna go crunch some numbers and figure out what I need to charge for maybe a small pack of like 5 sticks or something. Might have to start me a side business lol.

Pulled my ladder out of the archery only area of the watershed today.
I'll hunt from the ground floor when I go back out.

Tomorrow and Sunday are the last 2 gun days in Ohio. Tomorrow starts cold then up into the 50's. Sunday's forcast is rain all day - up to a half inch!! The ground blind is NOT waterproof!!! I had given my son seam sealer a few years ago to at least do that, but the blind has been at my house the whole time.

Texted Cole earlier to see what he plans on doing. Tomorrow for sure for me. Sunday is a big ??? as of now.

Muzzleloader starts January 6 for 4 total days.

Finally warming some here this morning. Had a nice tall 6 or 7 pt (6s love me) push a doe within 40yds. Luckily I didn’t have a clear shot at him so wasn’t temped too bad. Then 5 long beards came through. Gonna stick it out another hour or so. Jan. 1 is last day of season here.

Been piddling with rifle hunting out of saddle myself, and it feels a little cumbersome. Are you a right handed shooter? I've been hanging my rifle on left side of tree, but the more I think about it, hanging on the right would make shouldering it way easier instead of trying to get the butt of the gun over my tether. This makes a lot more sense seeing yours hanging off the right side. Funny how it makes sense in someone elses picture, but not up in the tree

Yessir right handed. If using bow I hang it left side. With rifle I found up and over bridge was smoother and easier from right side. If you hang it on left side I always got butt stock hung on tether in the heat of the moment. Assume you are setting up with left front to expected deer approach, wind etc.

Yessir was hunting both sides of fence. They worked around me and hopped it.

And as I just typed that I heard a whoosh and crash into the leaves no more than ten yards behind me. Turned my head to see a hen turkey which spotted me and walked off putting. No idea where she flew in from but made me jump.

Late season can be tough here. Great to get to still see some deer now and then.
