Looks like an ARB or other serious (full coverage) front plate bumper might've prevented 90% of that damage.

I find the trade-off of extra weight, slightly reduced mileage, less nimble steering, and somewhat increased front suspension wear to be a worthwhile trade-off for the increased sense of protection against low-to-medium speed frontal impacts.

Sorry to hear about your truck.... I've been there twice now with this truck.

Are you able to do the work yourself?

    You can now consider ....

    a steel front bumper....
    a suspension lift....
    the 2.5 gen nose conversion....
    Hood scoop....
I dig the 2011 grills and they're a little cheaper than your current design.

If your patient you can get 50% off Toyota MSRP and free shipping on their website.....

    Rockauto is the best site

Extreme Terrain has good open box/return deals.

If you gotta spend the money anyway...why not jazz it up...

    Good Luck!

Good there's no frame damage which should really help keep it from being totalled. They estimated this damage this February to be 13k and they ended up totaling it. Hood, lights, both fenders, radiators, frame in the front was bent but no airbags went off.

Ins co will often give you first right to buy back as salvage, usually pretty cheap. Then fix it back up with used parts and paint it.

The are considering it a total loss, offered me 7k for my truck....now time to start the negotiations.

What is the mileage? If it's a good running truck, might be worth fixing. Otherwise, you have $7K to look for a new truck in an inflated market. Prices never go down though...

    Dam that sucks! Sorry :(
Insurance company gave me $13.5k for my old one. Mine had nearly 200k on it, 4x4, pristine body and a cap. Hopefully they give you the same if not more :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

It does suck when this kind of stuff happens . As long as your ok is all that really matters . But it’s amazing how stuff can go down hill so fast like this . Even if you took really good care of your truck the whole time , one day some idiot can change that in a flash. Ask me how I know lol
But again as long as your ok ….. move on

Yeah they low balled me hard. I have countered with what I think is a real market value on my truck. Hope I don't have to involve a lawyer but Im not one to mess around. Insurance companies always always come out on top especially when I've been their customer for nearly 18 years.
