Thought I'd play DII a bit only to find I'm having Directdraw issues

Compatibility mode won't work, and I've got DirectX9 (need 7 or higher)

Driver is installed, even if it isn't the latest as it's recognized as an ATI Radeon 7500M

Now I'm downloading the latest D2 from Battlenet, but directly to the laptop cause...WAN is reading well but not LAN

Gonna have to find the right driver for LAN :burp:

This is a pretty frequent issue with older AMD stuff. Their drivers were dogshit so you'll just have to keep picking around until you find one that works for the games you like to play

Yeah, seems D2 was already too old for the T42

On another note, this fucker is really 'snappy' as it responds and boots up super fast

There is the tiniest little thing on the screen (under the panel) which tells me this thing has been apart during resto

Not complaining for the $68 total I paid ($50+shipping) but now I see why I got it so cheap, it got a fresh wipe and I'm having to dig around for drivers now

It's not really an XP feature but it was an Nvidia and AMD feature. Also if I were you I'd open it up again and pop an SSD in there. Talk about seriously snappy. For the longest time hard drives were really holding us back the most

old thinkpads are the best like that. i can stick sata drive in my t43 in place of the cdrom…with the right adapter.

oddly enough the main drive is PATA.

I never liked how IDE had its name retroactively changed to PATA.

Nice! Didn't realize you had one yourself.

Are you finding the old end of life Lenovo drivers to work with the T43?

Looking for the latest on the 7500M might be a challenge so I'll have to toy with what other drive is compatible with it.

Hey @Speedytech7 I put a group 24F into the truck but it was bigger than the battery I took out. I remember the first battery that was in the truck seemed small too. Wonder why that is? Either way it starts great now, just curious if it sitting for weeks at a time will kill it again.

24f was the optional battery for the cold weather package. 35r is the standard battery and usually what came in like every five lug ever made. Hopefully you don't have a draw I'm kind of betting you don't though

Have you tried using snappy driver installer origin? It lets you pick drivers from an old database it's awesome
