Thinking if I’m gonna stick with a tractor I’m gonna upgrade mine a bit and really get the most. I use the rear attachments a good amount and it’s a smaller tractor so no issues with break point. I’m almost always working around the property alone so I think I’ll take the jump. I know Titan Attachment makes one and I have a few of their items. I see a local one on Facebook too.

I tried a quick hitch but couldn't get the top hook to work with my implements. I'm using the Pats Easy Change now and it does make swapping much easier.

I remember hearing about that system as well. I meant to look into it a bit further. I’ll take a dive into both tomorrow, thanks! I need to price out tires too :annoyed:

My Kohler CV18 is running fine other then a little smoke on startup. Would yall bother checking/adjusting the valve while I'm doing the oil change? No idea how many hours the engine has since I bought the ZT used 6 months ago and this is not the factory motor.

Pretty sure it has hydraulic lifters so you can’t adjust them. Probably valve seals, if it’s not bad I wouldn’t worry about it.

Pats quick connects are nice too! ive hot several things from him. hes a regular over on the Kubota board.

if you dont have the adjustable top type of quick hitch & run different brands of stuff?
this happens a lot on the top link height. but they make a ratcheting type for that now too!

the lands pride one fits everything i run back there so far with no adjustments.
    woodland mills 24 stump grinder
    TItan ballast box
    Kubota L66 bush hog
    Kubota 60" tiller
    Titan box blade/drag
    42s wood chipper
    titan post driller

if theres anything else that goes back there out under the lean to?
forgot what it was..... havent used it recently.

heres a tip for you on using these: its a lot easier if you can reach behind you & unlock it before you set the tool down! saves you getting out of the seat with each change.

im a little short guy with real long arms, but on this Kioti if i pull the implement all the way up?
can reach back there & release the locks while still in the seat! which is truly what makes a quick hitch quick. you dont even have to get off the tractor to hook or unhook with it.
now if you need to hook up a PTO shaft? then you still have to get off the tractor..... but its way easier to back up under the shed roof, grab the tool, trip the latches pull out somewhere roomy & then hook up the shaft.

same thing on taking it off. i drop the PTO shaft before i back into the space for the tool... then when there? just reach back, flip the latches & drop it off. motor away!

last thing: since i always run the ballast box if there isnt a tool on there.... you drop one from the seat.... move over to where you dropped the ballast box.... grab it... flip the latches... all done from the seat without ever climbing up/down, up/down & so on.

I hope I just got banned from the Lawn Site forum.

Those cats that hang in the tech section are not my cup of tea.

They do nothing but bash new peeps on how stupid they are for not knowing about 20 year old engines.

Am I wrong that forums are to help people? If no, color me gone.

Fuck, I'm pissed at that site!

    Rant over.

man ive been a Member over there for a very long time. havent posted there in a long time.
you might have seen my Hustler conversion over there & my Gravely conversion. They both are posted in the rebuild sections.

there are a lot of good people over there, but YES like you said a couple of people are just dickheads.

the site changed ownership a few years back & lots of us quit posting much there then.

good news is that your help, advice & insight are greatly appreciated here!

Pulled out my grandpa’s 1998 TroyBilt Horse this afternoon. I changed all the fluids and put new tires on it about 3 years ago, but it hasn’t been out the last two or so years. Couldn’t get it to start with the pull rope so I grabbed a battery off a lawn mower and after a few seconds it fired right up. Let it run for a little while, going thru all gears and speeds. Did fine, although I discovered a slow fuel drip out of the carb bowl I plan to address in the near future.

I can't wrap my head around it!

Aren't forums dependent on add space?

Every time I post in the tech section there are 2-3 cats that can not understand that the site is designed to draw new people with valed questions.

They insist on shitting on people that have not spent 3 full days researching their problem.

I thought the idea be was to share knowledge.

It's like these fuckers want to be paid to make a non snarky response.

I even make valed responses and I get shit on. I truly would look forward to being banned.

I honestly will not post any of my own questions to that site. The abuse is too prevalent.

The only way that section remains is because new people are not aware of the venom that is present.

Every new question evolves to the regulars bitching about how wrong another regular is. I'm not innocent of this and I'm ashamed.

These guys won't even access a service manual to find out they are incorrect. I post a screen shot and the thread dies.

I will admit there is some positive results.

The OP of a topic did reach out and thanked for the info of the thread, so I guess that is good.

Thanks for reading. Rant over. I appreciate the above compliments.

I unfortunately have two coworkers in a different department I have to deal with regularly who are like this, bitching about how "kids these days" just want answers on the internet without earning it like they didn't have someone help them out 30/40 years ago when they didn't know shit.

Kohler's and oil burning seem to go hand in hand. Still prefer them over Briggs. Friend has an old 20HP twin on a Terrimite backhoe that smokes like a bong at idle even with thick oil. They no longer make the overhaul parts for it anymore (genuine Kohler that is) so we just gotta clean the plugs every 2 hours

not sure since they sold it to the new people.... but when Hustler/exmark owned it, they really didnt allow advertising at all.

has it gone all ad based now?

Most forums are add based. There are some pretty big and annoying adds on that and most other sites.

I'm not sure how TW keeps the adds here at such a minimum, but it is one of the better forums.

    hear ya.

we dont allow ads at all on our forum over at WeaponsGuild. no flash banners or anything like that. it takes away from the site.

we have paying Vendors who are only allowed to advertise in the Marketplace area. That covers the cost of the site.

I cleaned the Kohler up Friday night, took the valves out, gave them a good cleaning too. New head gaskets back on Saturday and reinstalled. Mowed with it for about 30 minutes and it ran great. Hopefully it stays that way.

For what its worth I recently picked up the Titan quickhitch. Its worked well the bit I've used it, but also only used it to swap between the brush hog and blade. Now i just need to get off my butt and order a hydraulic top link and Ill never have to get off lol
