I need some suggestions on a 'base'

So, tomorrow I'm cutting out the lower jaws. Once that's done, I'll weld them on and the raptor will be done.

It can stand on its own but I'd like to make it more permanent by welding it to a base.

Should I do a round pedestal with a single solid rod?

    Make a large square base?

Make two smaller platforms connected together (one for each foot)?

In this manner right? But round?

This is what I meant in my above post -

I've got plenty of steel plate and steel rod

Yee, I wouldn't use the rod unless it absolutely needs it to stand though

Ahh...yeah it wouldn't need the rod at all to stand

So you mean a 'larger' round circle; I get what you mean like a shadow now

    Oooh I like that, thanks

I had watched another video about completely removing the whole 'corrective' behavior and ensuring it is not associated with any food IE if you don't do this, you wont' get this or that

It keeps from them putting a specific food or drink on a pedestal so to speak; I like how the new foods are introduced, I'll definitely have to do that with Theo

Sir, I'm not Michaels or Hobby Lobby

I'd never be able to pull it off like that; naw but really the goal was for it to be showcased (while keeping anything around it simple) cause it's metal art

You really have to wonder how durable that rig will be if it is ever taken off pavement.

That photo shows how the lack of frame rail to mount stuff to means all of the integrity has to come from the sheet metal that the UCAs and shock system are mounted to. You commented on how flimsy the arm itself appears but what about the fact that the pivot points are bolted to sheet metal and no shock tower.

The whole suspension compartment that you're viewing there the backdrop is actually cast aluminum not sheet metal. I don't know how strong it is, but I believe in Tesla terms that's called a giga casting? Or some similarly asinine term. It's what they have instead of crumple zones, it's just important to note that it's not sheet metal and it is part of the crash structure. Whether or not it's strong remains to be seen though

I personally think the idea of the whole cars structure comprising of 3 conjoined castings is brilliant, if it works

Collision repair be damned it's not like any of those fuckers could do a half decent job to begin with anyway

Other manufacturers are going that route. Cheaper to manufacturer, but impossible to repair. So insurance rates will go up, more cars totaled easier I'm sure as it becomes more popular.

I think the interesting thing is that the UCS does look rather flimsy, even if it was on a Tacoma, but the CT is much, much heavier. Time will tell how it works I suppose.

Side note: hi's and lo's of my truck yesterday, no more jump pack required, hit 8psi and felt every bit of it. Makes me curious what it could do at sea level. But then going to leave the storage unit and I got a no crank. Yay! The idiot who installed the new battery didn't crank the cables to the moon and all his tools are buried in the bottom of a box... Fack.

Still on the old cables? I had to really reef on the corolla cables the other day with those old parts store lead terminals to get them to grip.
