Just to be Toyota product placement and script man doing basic mods. Damn I should have started a Tacoma channel long ago.

 

My ‘21 SR SX ACLB V6 AT 4X4 had a msrp of $32,500
‘24 XCLB AT 4X4 is $34,700.
Other than no AC, no SX package (flares/aluminum wheels)
That isn’t much of an increase

Since Toyota killed off the AC, have been looking at DCLB SR5s.

Without options, the ‘23 vs. ‘24, $2415 difference. It is when you start adding on packages it gets a little wacky, but with no options, not an unreasonable price increase to me.

You're only overpaying ~5% for the 4G. Waiting a year or two might save you the money, but cost you a headache trying to find a deal. Plus there is a real or perceived value to being one of the first.

The first Toyota I bought, the dealership acted like it was a huge honor for me to be allowed to purchase one of these rare mass produced vehicles. Never seen anything like it.

 

Tfl says negative things all the time about Toyota, I have seen John do the same when he doesn't like something. Had quality issues with the Tundra which I think are fixed now

 

You wouldn't believe the idiot Lexus sales manager I talked to earlier on the phone. I sent out a detailed package to several dealers with all the information. This guy didn't read any of it and just wanted to try the usual sales tactics which he sucked at anyways. He sounded like he was drunk. Kept asking me the same questions that were all answered in the email. I finally lost my patience and expressed my thoughts in an extremely unflattering way.

On the bright side, the other dealers were pretty good, and the one female that I dealt with was a complete pro. Within an hour she responded, thanking me for providing everything she needed, and included documentation for the entire deal. Turns out they offered me the best deal too.

Now I just have to pull the trigger...

 

Well it appears nothing is selling right now. It will be interesting to see if the Tacoma hype will counter the crappy interests rates and new inflated MSRP’s.

 

I am finding a lot of dealers with only 3 or 4 trucks showing in allocation and finding a lot of them available. So either they are telling me they are available just to get the conversation started or they don't have people bang their door down with interest. There are all at MSRP dealers. I am sure once they hit the lot they will sell but I assumed that a lot more than what I am finding would be presold.


Here is just one example....2 spoken for and 2 not and they did confirm those 2 were available.

 

I can verify they are selling some GX 460s around here. Half of the ones I inquired about were gone by the time I could talk about a deal.

By the way, in case anybody wondered. I got them to knock another $500 off and bought the dinosaur.

 

I kinda want one but doubt I could work them down to a price I'd pay. Enjoy your sweet new (old) V8! It should be bullet proof for sure.

 

TRD prerunner makes no sense to me. It seems like it's just an SR with a rear locker unless I'm missing something. It says TRD and you can't add any good packages. Can't even get heated seats like you can on an SR5
