A friend came over and helped me get the 400 lb planer down the steps into the basement shop.
    Got it on the cart.

Those are nice but $$. Different options I went with awhile ago was one of these. It's more of a universal fit but works to clean up threads at least

Menards has a 12% off everything sale currently so I splurged on some Masterforce sockets. They've changed a bit in the last few years. The size markings are now shallower than the old ones. Still have a few empty spaces in my HF socket organizers which I'm still loving!

i was a lot more 'adult'. i stocked up on paper products, garbage bags, and soap... but it's still cool, i wasn't expecting to have the opportunity until march/april when the 11% sale returned.

it still amazes me how few people seem to talk or even use the 11%/12% menards sales.. tool sites refuse to talk about it even..

and as a reminder, home depot's policy is to match ALL competitors sales. meaning that home depot also has the same [*] percent off sale menards has!

Well I'm only 21 so I'll have these tools forever! :bananadance:

Yeah the 11% is awesome! Seems like they did a lot more of those sales this year too.

I love and hate the place.

That fucked up organization of the inventory irritates me. I hate zig zagging around the store to get where I need to be.

I'll give Jon Menard credit for maximizing person/goods contact. It does make more money.

    Give me rows and columns.

The rebate program is legit. We use it when we need to buy large amounts of construction materials.

I dont really find Menards organization to be that difficult to navigate. My dad loves Menards for their building materials as he's built a dozen or two homes with stuff from them. Seems their employees are a lot more knowledgeable in their departments. Doesn't like their tools though.

Dad hates HD. He's said multiple times he usually leaves HD annoyed:laugh:

Hes always said he'd never go there if Menards sold the same tools!

I feel the same way about Home Depot. It's always my last choice...and it's actually the closest for me.

Same! HD is 5 minutes away where as Menards is close to 10!

I don't mind HD. Not nearly as many sockets to choose from compared to Menards. Menards has way more of a selection to choose from in store.

Seems like Menards has a much wider variety in every department honestly. They even have pizza

I can definitely understand that. I learned to avoid asking for help, as many employees intentionally sent me to an opposite corner to maximize buying opportunities.

My local Menards is also 2 stories, where most of the trade/building stuff is upstairs(plumbing, electric, HVAC, cabinets, tool boxes, storage, windows, doors), so it's additionally frustrating to go upstairs for something, come down, then need to go back up for another part

I absolutely love the home goods/food section. Most of it is priced competitively with the local supermarkets, and I'm already there...

But I can't stand lowes. it's one of the few tool stores that I'll try going to just for a change, and consistently walk out empty handed.

How good is that when the threads are really buggered up? I assumed cause it just used clamping force and is universal it would have difficulty doing more then basic thread cleanup. Is the internal tool any good, from the looks of it its just a deburring tool so the threads have to be in decent shape still.

Autozone has a thread "chaser" kit for loan. It's free. Or you can buy it.

Picked this up at HD online for $134 with battery on sale last week. Redoing my topper and needed battery operated smaller sander.
    Works awesome so far.

No clue on the internal one to be honest. The external one works well. And i suppose its a matter of just how buggered you are talking
