Pretty sure I shit out a spider gear. Truck pulls one way on the gas and then goes straight when I’m off the gas. Can’t figure out where to get new spider gears at. 98 tacoma 2wd 2.4

What part of idaho and is this for your 5lug? I have two spare 4.10 ratio 8.4 rear diffs in my shop.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Could be an axle more likely than a spider gear but definitely easier to find a third member to drop in replacement. If it were a spider gear, the broken chucks would have likely destroyed the ring and pinion.

Would the truck even move in that case? Open diff.. power going to the side without any load and all that..?

I'd look at a rusted and broken frame before I'd consider broken spider gears. If it shifts under acceleration, you would get the exact scenario you are describing. I'd also look for loose U bolts or broken leaf springs.

I have a guy with tons of 7.5 diffs laying around. Let me know the ratio. He will ship a third member in a 5 gallon bucket to you if it is the diff. Let me know if you want me to reach out but didn’t want you to turn on the parts cannon before diagnosing.

I’ll drain the fluid today and see if a bunch of pretty glitter comes out and then dig into it with a bore scope. Everything else looks good. No broken shocks, leafs or loose u bolts
