4Runner TRD Pro going through the course in the winter:

He pulls the ABS fuse to disable ABS and VSC, but it also turns off the electronic booster, so he's braking on purely leg power

Timed run starts at 05:16, turning in a faster lap time than the GR Corolla.

It is important to note that it was extremely icy when they ran the GR corolla, it can be difficult to get an apples to apples comparison with the winter conditions there.

Agreed. It would be good to get them out on the same day. See how they do.

Possibly try leaving the gas cap off of the 4Runner to throw an evap CEL, then race. As that may keep the brakes working better. @Lucario Runner does something similar.

Leaving the gas cap off? How does that effect the brakes?

When we would go to MSR Houston to road course race, he would pull the gas cap to set an evap CEL. Then race like that. Which I believe would disable traction control, but allow the brakes to still work properly, or at least better than what the guy in the video dealt with.

Of course, @Lucario Runner 's 4Runner is an '06 model, so there may be a difference there in programming.

the cel would disable throttle cut, abs, trac, and stability control. it doesnt matter which cel it relates too all will prevent those systems from interfering with driving.
