I know this is a couple years old but I just picked up a 2014 4cylinder that needs tires bad and plan on getting Rubitreks this week. Debating between 265/70R16 and 265/75R16 Rubitreks and curious how much of a noticeable hit to acceleration and MPG you take on a 4-banger stepping up from a metric 31" to a 32" relatively speaking??

For the record Falkens, at least the all terrain ones, run a tad smaller than say Goodyears, etc. at the same size spec.
So they get about 10 revolutions more per mile from what Ive seen ( visually they are a tad smaller) That rev per mile stat on tires is handy.
Therefore, jumping up to 265/75r16 from 70’s ( stock Goodyears) I’m taking less of hit in terms of speedo, odometer, and technically mpg’s I would guess… then jumping up one size w/ many other brands… FWIW

    Put them on today....

My local tire guy turned me on to this Falken tire. I had never heard of Rubitrek, only Wildpeaks, He said, "I think you will like the road part of these. Look around on the 'net and call me back" - He's right, all reviews say a little bit more hwy friendly. Same materials, same tire as Wildpeaks AT3W expect there is a center "river" to quiet it and blocks slightly closer. Discount Tire nor Tire Rack carries this Falken model. Apparently this is only sold to retailers who buy directly from Falken? Then I go to Amazon - $151 per tire for 265/75r1 (SL) - $60 less than anywhere else.
My local tire guy when I sent him the screen shot. “I can’t even buy them from my supplier at that price”. He’ll put ‘em on, but he knows he lost that sale.. and I bought 5. He got the mounting and balance fee ;)
They look so much better than the stock Goodyear Adventurers that came stock and seriously gave up the ghost for tread at 24.5k miles. (some have written on TW about "Covid" tire compound Goodyear used - simply don't last - and I do a bunch of off road and gravel roads - that didn't help.
Anyway, all signs point this is a real good tire at good price. Strong reviews from varied sources.

I just bought a set of these from Walmart. Total with installation was about $680, only$143 per tire for 265/70/16

Great value... what is this 2018? o_O

Considered Wal-Mart for installation as they are under half (yeah, its' Wal-Mart)of what my local tire guy shop charges for mounting and balance - and I was doing 5 (he said $30 over phone, but was maybe grumpy as I was bringing him tires he sells, so said $35 when I arrived ... but I reminded him). BUT, don't know about you, but at times over the decades I have had PAINFUL results from Wal-Mart trying to get an accurate balance - constantly bring it back to get it right. W/ local shop - one and done, always.

I don't think you are all wrong about the Walmart workmanship and equipment being subpar compared to a local tire shop with some owner pride but I got mine at Walmart as well and for the price ($17/tire+$2/disposal=$19/tire mount and balance) it sorta makes no sense to go through the trouble of hauling 5 big tires away from Walmart or even from your driveway to local shop. To me pay the $19 and save the $55 and take your chances on Walmart install simply because even if the balance isn't perfect or they can't get it right after a couple tries and few thousand miles you can then take them to a specialist for the re-balance but you'll always have that lifetime balance and rotation service warranty at any Walmart for the life of the tires.

You're not wrong @92westshady. As mentioned, mine came from Amazon. Frankly, I never even considered that Wal-mart would carry them. Believe me though, I thought about your scenario.... but been burned by Wal-mart, heading out same day on 500 mile trip and the tire balance stunk (as often does from my experience there), etc. - royal pain!

Just wanted to share that my local Discount tire was able to order Rubitrek AT’s for me. I went with p265/70r17. Just had them installed today. Not sure if it’s a regional thing but my local Discount Tire (Corpus Christi TX) had no problem getting them. They also price matched my local Sam’s club.
I’ll share more after driving them for a few miles. I’ve had Wildpeaks in the past so can give some comparisons. Great looking tire though! Very close in aggressiveness to the Wildpeaks. The ride home from install today was very smooth and very quiet!

Nice. Makes you wonder the strange distribution method on these Rubitreks? Their design just makes a lot of sense to me for most of our uses....

Have ~700 miles on these in SL 265/70r17.
So far, ride is very similar to the Wildpeaks (same size and load rating) I had back in 2017-2020 on my 4Runner. Maybe a tad more quiet but honestly hard to tell.
Very similar ride quality vs Wildpeaks on road in wet and dry conditions. Have only had these off-road on the beach and dirt roads and they also seem very similar to Wildpeaks. I got these for $175 ea but notice now they are priced ~$185 which is still less than the Wildpeaks . Will see how they wear and perform down the road with more miles on them. Very very happy with the Rubitreks ride quality and they are a very good looking tire as well!

Looks good! Any more pics of the truck with them? I have an MGM as well and am getting these since I drive a lot more freeway with occasional off roading. The bronze looks good!

Nice, this is exactly the thread I was looking for. Appreciate you guys @Amorak and @plasticsnaks! I was looking for a good deal on WP AT3s, but I stumbled across a review of these low flying Rubitreks and came here to see if others had first-hand experience. With Wally World and Amazon, these run the same price as used KO2bros in my area, and we get a lot of wet and snowy conditions so the first-hand vouching in those conditions sold me. I'm going to be nabbing these shortly and will add to the post after mounting, balancing, etc.
