A few weeks back I was in Southern California and visited the Lions Automobilia Museum in Long Beach and saw some phenomenal cars. They have a mock-up inside of the old Lions Drag Strip that was really cool and they also have one of the largest Willys collections I’ve ever seen. The old Lions Drag Strip is now in the middle of a container yard located about a mile from the museum. My father-in-law raced there back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Anyway, the museum has a relationship with Clint Eastwood and they have four cars from his personal collection on display…the Bullitt tribute, the Gran Torino Sport that was actually used in the movie, the sedan from Honkey Tonk Man that was used in the movie, and the old GMC from the Bridges of Madison County that was used in the movie. Clint had Lions completely restore the truck, apparently it was in awful condition when he located it.

Meant to include this one in the above post, but this is my father-in-law racing at Lions back in the day.

Nothing new or exciting just bunch of regular customers. Don't worry I won't leave you out of the mix. What I can say is traffic was an absolute dumpster fire today. Seems like everyone decided to take a early vacation for the holidays and were driving around aimlessly like chickens with their heads cut off. Maybe I'll turn here or maybe I won't. I wish it was legal to pit maneuver people.

Where did you get that pic? Google Earth? It's been vacant for at least five years, and I'd say that the building resembles a military-style Quonset hut...?

Thanks! Yea, once I get the burr up my behind I just do it

Does need a set of tires though. With this car being FWD it will stay in the garage in the snow. Should last until Spring though, but they are definitely noisy! Little bit salty being 18's, but it is what it is... Car needs a full detail and being an ex Avis rental there's definitely that hint of cigarette smell. Doesn't bother me too much and an ozone treatment should knock it out.

Already got 35 on the trip home and that included a steep mountain pass. That surprised the heck out of me. The 8 speed automatic seems decent as well.
