    I had the same issue with my 6.0 Powerstroke . The dipstick was so smooth the oil didn't have anything to cling to and it was impossible to get an accurate, consistant reading. I lightly scuffed the dipstick with a scotch brite pad. Problem solved

    I've noticed it on mine too... I think it's because the oil is low viscosity and surface tension affects it's 'wetting' action.
