Definitely a get-what-you-pay-for product. Too thin unless you're a featherweight human. Not comfortable for side sleepers that are older than 6 years old. The design with all of the gaps and sipes let lots of body heat out, and cold air under you. However I did find them a little more durable than the good UL pads on the market.

List what you got. I don't think there's a backpacking specific FS thread anywhere so here should work just fine.

I’d say go for it, just follow the standard guidelines from the b/s/t section.

You must be much smaller than me. But to each their own. If the budget pad works for you, that's a win.

NOT to hijack, but I ALSO have a ZPACKS Arc haul 50, med, grey available. I thought I was ggonna fit a med but it is too short for me. Brand new, seen precisely 3 hrs of trail time, Stored in a box since then.

It's a fantastic pack, and I've put hundreds of aggressive miles on my large one (I bought the right size in green to replace the smaller one). Absolutely love it.

Made a pretty cool little tinder wedge. Works like a charm with the right wood, and way safer than an axe (I have and regularly use several). It was free-hundred dollars with some elbow grease, and now that I've made the prototype, I know what I'd change on the next one.

Yeah, I'm not original. Just taking requests for CAD stuff since I'm bored.

Don't be bored. "Bored is what the unimaginative do to themselves." Doesn't seem like that applies to you. You had extra time and found something to do.

Thanks. I still haven't figured out to adult properly. I guess I felt boredom incoming and self corrected. Either way... here we are.

    Nice job in creativity.
    What would you change?
    Is one end sharpened?
If you had one just a bit longer, do you think you'd need the pry bar? (I guess that all depends on the length of the wood.)

Exactly one of the changes would be to make it longer. I've learned since making this that the type of wood used makes a world of difference. Works great with some, not as great with others. I did sharpen the edge.

I don't see how you are using it.
A knife works for small splitting.

Yes it does, but there is more than 1 way to splinter wood (can use an axe or hatchet as well clearly) . This way I don't damage my knife edge batoning. It acts as a small wood splitter. Rhis wedge goes on a secure base. Edge of a peice of wood goes on the little wedge. Smack the wood down and it splits off small peices for kindling.

There are endless ways to harvest wood, this is just one more.
