:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/dog lovers. We lucked out in the the huge rainfall; no real damage here to speak of. Whew. But just down the hill from us there is a spot in the road that floods pretty regularly in heavy rain, and if you're not paying attention it can be easy to miss seeing it; I have a feeling someone did just that yesterday, because the local paper is reporting a fatal accident right at that spot on the road.
I've had similar experiences with PENNDOT recently -- super fast turnaround. I've always appreciated their services. I have an EZ-PASS from them, and once I forgot to put it in the window of the car I was driving at the time and went through an EZ-PASS lane on the PA Turnpike; I got a letter from PENNDOT saying, "Golly, did you forget your EZ-PASS? Would you like us to charge this toll to it?" When the same thing happened in NJ I got a letter saying, "YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW AND WE ARE COMING FOR YOU, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR PETS!" Or words to that effect. ;)

We're having our tankless water heater replaced today. The old unit lasted about 5 years longer than they're supposed to, according to the guy doing the job. It quit a month or so ago and he came and got it going again, but the volume of water is still down so we've chosen to swap it out. Both the old and new units are Bosch, but for some reason Bosch decided to move the water connections from the bottom of the unit to the top! o_O

Pouring down rain today. In California we always need more rain (and snow) so no complaints. Great day for putzing, reading a good book, maybe watching a movie. And possibly a nap. Happy Tuesday.

Some rain in the East bay but not much. Of course it poured when I tried to walk from the store to the truck…..,

Well I took everyone's advice and tested myself for covid, it was negative. Starting to feel better so I think I'm on the mend with this stomach bug.

My wife is an artist and today she completed the last of 3 pieces I asked her to paint for me. (Actually just got the last one back from framing today)The one on the right is our lab Sprig. The middle one is a large trout I caught while fly fishing. The fly in the pic that the trout is leaping for is the actual fly I tied and caught the fish on. Rather than paint the fly, she glued the actual fly onto the painting. Pretty cool. The painting on the left is her rendition on my truck out in the country.
    She’s really talented, I’m a lucky guy.

Very nice. You should take some close-ups for a little more detail. I can already see she has a great grasp on proportion and the color on the fish is very nicely done.

I think I got your bug Greg! Slow working today, after a rough night. But wifey is making me spaghetti and meatballs, so I will be cured. I hope. Took some Alka-Selter cold and flu pills, and it's helped. (edit before I even got done - DON'T BUY GREAT VALUE ORGANIC GARLIC SPAGHETTI SAUCE!)

What I did get done, was to rehang both front door panels (paint guy did not do it right), and then the tonneau back on. The little release latches are hard to see, and were getting a little rusty. Thought I could fix that, but you still can barely see them with the cover on. Oh, well. Not rusty!

Here’s individual pics of each of the paintings. Sorry they aren’t that good of pics. My photography ain’t very good. Sorry for the light reflections on the glass of the pics. She did these in watercolor which is her favorite medium . We’ve got dozens and dozens of her paintings around the house. She doesn’t sell her work. She gives most of it away to friends and relatives. People who admire and compliment her often get one they really like at Christmas or some special occasion. One of our neighbors and good friends down the street have 5 of her works. Anyway I’m pretty proud of her.

Glad I asked for close-ups. That's good work, especially as watercolors are especially difficult. The close-up of Sprig shows how talented she is. Black is a hard color to work with when showing shading.
