Oh yeah, they were basically 50% off at Cambria Bike before Black Friday. They sold out quick.

Speaking of Black Friday sales...I ordered a Shimano XT groupset. I was installing the brakes this weekend and got a little surprise - the rear caliper is black and the front is silver (but both levers are black). I called the place I ordered from and they acted like it was no big deal. I'm curious what you guys & gals would do in this situation. I absolutely want matching brakes, preferably in the color shown in the ad (black). Maybe I'm missing something. Are mismatched brakes what the kids are doing these days??

to be honest, if you wouldn't have said they're different colors I wouldn't have noticed and thought it was just lighting. May be more noticeable in person, but the photo doesn't show it as much.

Like whitelite said; I don't think anybody would notice once installed on the bike. The levers would stand out if they were black and gray.

The mismatch would irritate the hell out of me! That said, a black front brake would irk me less since most forks have black lowers anyways.

I'm from the camp of "I don't give a rats behind", but that's just me. If you have OCD then I can see why it matters. To be clear I am not trying to be jerk or offend you in any way, its a MTB and I'll bet the first mud puddle ya ride thru they look the same. :D

I didn’t forget about you, we’ve been dealing with downed trees and power outages out my way. Once I can get things back to normal, I’ll pull the fork (saying power outages until Wednesday or Thursday)

    not enough.
i don't ever notice someones brake calipers being different. I do notice the brake levers and lever bodies being different. which if they are, then i notice the calipers. it bothers me if the brakes are completely different sets (for some reason even though logically it shouldn't matter). but colors haven't bugged me much. i suppose if they did bother me, i would be bothered by some of the crashed and scuffed up and bent levers i've had. lol.

The Trek fanboy inside me is drooling over this. Beauty bike! Fat bikes are so much fun as you can take them anywhere, trail, dirt, sand and snow! Enjoy

I'm not offended in the least. I asked for your opinions! However, being the most OCD person that you've never met, the mismatched calipers drive me crazy just knowing they exist. Luckily, the company I ordered through is swapping brakes with me, so that's great. I do appreciate everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Holy hell. 7 7/8” steerer too short? You must be rolling on a XXL with a massive head tube.

Haha, yeah. Coincidentally, the old fork made it's way to the same bench the chain saw was on. Snapped a quick pic before grabbing the Farm Boss and heading out to play!

Size L 5010. Maybe I measured wrong, but it looked like I needed at least 8".
