Typing this from dealer service waiting area.
My 2021 TRD OR 6MT has two minor issues I reported at 10k. The writer pretty much blew them off as non-issues.
Leaky clutch reservoir and acid leaking from top of battery.
Here I sit at 14,900miles. With the same issues. Hopefully they will take care of it this time.more leaking at both trouble spots. Hold down corroded…
Seems I’ve seen other owners reporting factory batteries leaking?
Overall it’s been a solid truck. Just wish these items would have been remedied on the first visit.
I’ll report back with results of this visit.

My 2018 factory battery kept leaking, replaced twice under warranty, third time I bought a yellow top battery and gave the factory battery as a core and had no problems since.

If they don’t replace it this time- I will and it won’t be a Toyota battery!
Hopefully they will replace any corroded parts.
We have a three time in for one problem lemon law. However, I don’t want a new one. Just want it fixed.

Dealer ordered replacements for corroded parts, a new clutch cylinder cap…
They will replace battery when those parts are installed.
Will be glad to get that solved. It has not inconvenienced me. Truck has been trouble free otherwise

It’s infinitely more likely you simply don’t hear about the 1,000 people who don’t have an issue, for every 1 person who does (and comes on here to talk about it). Nobody goes online to type about how their factory battery isn’t leaking. My battery is fine after a year and a half, as well as everything else on my truck. These are Toyotas, not BMWs.

My 2020 had the leaky battery issue too. From the top caps. I kept cleaning it and eventually put corsion prevention product on it keep the cables cleaner. I did mention it at my 15,000 mile service. They checked it out and agreed the battery was leaking and also started to attack the hold down bracket. They replaced mine with a new Toyota sure start 7 year warranty battery.

2019 had the leaky battery too. Replaced it on my dime since they were going to use the same exact battery model. I already read on this happening to others so I replaced with an interstate from Costco. No leaks or issues since.

My battery is currently leaking at the top. I am probably going to replace it with an AGM in the not too distant future.

Go to a Jeep or Ford forum. Report back on Toyota having lots of issues.

Heard about this OEM battery issue as well. I do regular visual inspections on my truck between services. I've not had one issue with my 2020 so far.

My 21 battery was leaking by 9k miles (1 yr old). Dealer said it wasn't a problem :jerkoff:. It seemed to have stopped though. They did have to replace the high press fuel pump on the block though.

My 2021 Toyota Tacoma positive terminal also has corrosion on it. Took it to the dealer, service adviser stated, this is normal. Charged me $60.40 to clean the terminal and add corrosion pads. I asked to have the battery replaced and was told they will inspect and verify if replacement is needed. Writing this post at a Toyota Dealer waiting area.

Leaky positive terminal on my 2017 OEM battery when I replaced it. Johnson Controls makes leaky batteries, apparently.
