My opinion was and still is that he should move on and not come back. An Internet forum should not interfere to that degree with your personal life. If it does, one needs to reassess.

But hope he is doing well.

 

That’s where the problem lies.
It should never have gotten that far.
I think people get their feeling hurt way too easy these days.

I guess long gone are the days of people being ok with not liking each other.
Now days, people will go out of their way to make your life harder just because they don’t like you.
Not me. I can dislike you and still wish you the best of luck. I wont go out of my way to make things harder on you. I just won’t make it any easier by being around to help you.

Anyways. What happened, happened.
If he needs to move on to make things “better”.
Then that’s what he needs to do.

 

I hit, and surpassed, 187K today; I am going to looking for a job that is less driving-centric after New Year's, to tide me over until Home Depot starts!

 

The son of a bitch who sent the letter to John's employer was already perma-banned from TW, so not much worse of a way for him to be punished...

No idea. It's this program called Ken's Krew for young adults with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities, and there's a lot of bureaucratic BS that I have to go through to prove that I actually qualify. I get paid by Home Depot the same amount that regular employees get, and my dad believes that I will be ready to work as a normal employee within eight weeks or so. I will also be getting a new job at the bar where I used to work once it reopens in spring!

 

Sounds great. I wish you the best. You are very informative on ac units , I think that will really help the customers. Plus I'm sure whatever your tasked to do you'll give it 110% .

 

Stoves and ovens are another thing I've recently developed an interest in; I wouldn't mind working in the appliance department at Home Depot. @Stitchgirl90 is taking her state phlebotomist license exam in a week, so we should be bringing in some pretty decent money this time next year, and Amanda will have her own vehicle so she doesn't have to borrow my truck when I'm sick or on vacation!

 

Yup..it's like the meme that said something like "Internet made people too comfy being jerks without getting punched". While extreme I see the general point.

One of my longtime triggers is being confronted by perfect strangers when I've done nothing wrong, and it's even more annoying when the "perfect stranger" should know who I am. Everybody who follows me closely knows that I rescued my girlfriend of nearly one year, Amanda (@Stitchgirl90), from an atrocious situation with deplorable living conditions and toxic people. She is renting a room in an old woman's 4-bedroom home, and has access to the whole house, including the kitchen, both bathrooms, and the laundry room. She has been living here since early October, and one would think that everybody living in the house directly across the street would know both Amanda and myself; I have actually met the mother/housewife and her kids love my truck in both "zombie truck" and "Christmas truck" form.

So, there is an elementary school literally just up the hill from where my girlfriend lives, and the parking lot is small so visitors sometimes end up parking on the street in front of the houses; I picked up Amanda from work, saw a 2023 Bronco Heritage Edition parked on the street in front of the house when we got back, and thought nothing of taking a couple pics of it with my phone.

Some guy who I'd never seen before came to the door of the house across the street and asked me either "What are you taking pictures of?" or "Why are you taking pictures?" I initially believed that this guy was a guest of the neighbor, and this was his Bronco; I told him that I was taking pictures of the Bronco, and this seemed to satisfy him, but he continued to stand at the door and just stare at me. This made me very uneasy, so much so that I decided to go inside the house and wait until he went away; I didn't even go back to my truck to get Amanda's purse that she'd forgotten. Before going inside the house, I gave him a "What's your problem" gesture. Less than a minute later, he was gone, and I retrieved Amanda's purse from my truck without incident.

I later mentioned the incident to my girlfriend's landlady, and without even describing the guy, she knew exactly who I was talking about by name. Apparently, he's a bit of a weirdo and has confronted people he does not recognize in the neighborhood before, and Amanda's landlady saw no harm in me taking pictures of the Bronco.

My dad made a very good point that the guy was just being a good neighbor, but that the same time sympathized with me and understood my frustration; I had an unpleasant experience with an overzealous neighbor in the trailer park where my aunt used to live, all because I was playing with a crack in the bumper of my parents' minivan on a warm summer day...

As stated in the HVAC BS thread, yesterday I took a drive through this new neighborhood in Bethlehem after DoorDashing there. There was a model home, which I stopped to look at. This is a 55+ community and the homes start at like $750K...
