Let's See Your Cats!!!

We had a kitten like that many moons ago. She came into a 2-cat household and immediately commandeered it. One of our adult cats was lounging on a chair, and this little firecracker jumped up, got between her and the chair back, and used her hind legs to shove the other cat onto the floor. Stuff like that. We have a fairly large place with an open floor plan; one day we smelled something bad, looked around for a bit, and found a ruffed grouse -- a dead one -- hidden in a back area. That bird was three times the size of that little cat, but somehow she dragged it through the cat door and into the house. I miss that girl.

 

Three seconds after I straightened it all up.

 

We've had Shrimp for about 2 years now. He was a feral that my wife's son rescued & and we got him when he (Shrimp) needed a new home. We barely saw him for his first 2 weeks here.

My wife works at the VA, and they saw this little female sneaking around the grounds. Someone caught it & after a visit to the vet, one of her co-workers took it home. That lasted about 2 weeks. She found a new home here. Her & Shrimp are getting along pretty good after just a few days. He's definitely more active now. They make a cute couple.

We've only gotten a pic or two of them together. She's still pretty skittish, but coming around.




And for the most part, she's already the Boss!!!

We lost our beloved Onyx this morning. He was only 8.

He had a slight limp for a few months, thinking he injured himself somehow, but over the last 3 or 4 days he started breathing harder and not moving much, only to go to different places to lie down flat.
After taking him to the vet this morning and getting x-rays, blood work and other tests, we found out he had leukemia and was diabetic. The diabetic state was what was causing his loss of movement in his rear legs, and the cancer caused fluid to build up around his lungs making him have a hard time breathing.
He was my daughters boy and she didn't even get to say goodbye. We lost our little Benjamin earlier this year along with my mom in February and my job this past September. 2023 was not a great year.
My wife and I are devastated, and so is our daughter.

We miss our mini-panther man terribly. He was a good boy, and a loving cat.
Letting him go was the right thing to do, but saying goodbye is one of the hardest things ever.

So sorry to hear about Onyx. It sounds like 2023 was a tough year, hoping 2024 can bring some peace of mind and healing from all the loss.

Sorry man, I have two black panthers. Black cats are much different than most. They tend to be more independent and aloof, at least thats what I read about them. We still love the shit out of them though. Thoughts are with ya bud.
