If I recall right on my old 2006 Colorado, I used 2 thin metal rods on the side to remove the radio from the holder. Not sure if the one he has would be doable. If you can sneak a look at the make/model of the unit I can try to walk you through.

That said try the truck's fuse first if he hasn't already

I'm more mechanically inclined than he is with vehicles. He's good with computer shit, smart tvs and crap. I dunno if we ever did so thats the first thing I'll look at. After that I have no idea. Is there a fuse under the hood as well or only under the dash?

I just meant I knew what double din vs single din was before y'all explained and posted pictures lol. But thank you for being thorough. I do have dumb girl moments at times.

 

Checking now but I'd start with the one under the hood, much easier to reach and in my experience the more likely to go versus on the radio

So this video shows it’s in space 32 in the fuse box. Now to have to pop the hood, pull that fuse to check.
