Hey guys had my 2019 Tacoma stolen from my driveway at 6:30am this morning in central Denver. I have AirTags in my vehicles so the Denver police and myself located and recovered it. However, the truck smells like they were smoking meth in it. My neighbor saw it happen and said she could smell them smoking meth from a good distance, her ex husband had a meth addiction so she is familiar with the smell. I'm guessing it's gonna get totaled. If it gets totaled I'm hoping I can take the majority of my mods off it before they roll it away. People suck.

Get it towed to your house and start removing mods while insurance makes determination???

With all the fentanyl and exponentially increasing amounts found in meth recently, I would not go in the vehicle until it was tested. Even then, I may just start collecting all your receipts and submitting them to insurance to be valued into a total loss settlement and don’t waste your time and risk your health trying to part out.

Ya good advice. I was only hoping to remove the front and rear bumpers, winch, roof rack, SmartCap, and swapping out my wheels and tires for some cheap factory takeoffs. I have fox shocks front and rear, but I think that's gonna be too much work. I'm definitely not touching anything on the inside. Maybe it won't be totaled, but that smoke smell is not anything I'm comfortable with.

Hit me up if you want to tackle the suspension. I think I have some 3rd gen OffRoad take off suspension in the parts bin that I don’t plan on using. The suspension swap is a relatively easy job to zip off the Fox and put in some OEM stuff.

Awesome. If it does go that way I definitely will. I'll compensate you in the form of some really good whiskey or something else if you aren't a drinker.

Hoping so. They got off with basically all my HVAC tools, and a decent amount of stuff from garage. Now I gotta worry about them coming back for more. I will never leave a garage door opener in a vehicle again.

Bleh, if it would give you peace of mind you may be able to reset your opener. If it's new enough to use rolling codes that should break the pairing with the remote they took. You'd have to re-pair any existing ones you'd like to use

On I70 eastbound near Limon today, doing 85-ish mph, and a U-Haul casually cruises by. Dude somehow got a U-Haul to do 90.

I'm not sure which size it was, but it was a ford E-Series with the "attic". I'd guess 17-footer.

They are no longer governed, used to be 75 was the fastest they would go.

There was a stint where people were renting a uhaul and swapping the engine with their smaller engine vehicle… maybe they were doing a test run of their tune before swapping :burnrubber:

Do you know how they stole it? Not sure if that was already covered, I may have missed it.
