It's less Tacoma and more mod
I went Ruger, cheap and reliable. Only ever go target shooting at my buddy's home range, but still.

Not yet, but the way things are going on the world today, and if I move out on my own (with Amanda and my best friend Mike too), I'm definitely going to get one. I have always been pro-2A, but I was never keen on owning a gun until 2020. My dad was busy with work and wasn't wild about going to a range during COVID, so my late friend Jim took me shooting in September 2020.

The only Ruger semi-auto I can recommend is the MK series.
    I have a MK-IV Hunter.

    Revolvers, I have GP100s

The nicest I’ve shot were probably older Smiths.
Although, the snake series Colts were good too. But I have to give credit where it’s due. Smith has the better out of the box trigger.

The newer smiths are still good. But just don’t seem to be as smooth as the older ones.
My buddy just bought a new M17, I was skeptical at first. As most rimfire revolver trigger are horrible.
Not the case on the M17. Sweet trigger. Single action is NICE.

BTW, the SP and GP series aren’t cheap anymore.
I bought BOTH of mine used (like new) for $400 each.
Granted, that was 10+ years ago. But they are NOT worth $800+ they sell for now.
Buy a 686 if you are spending that kind of money.

    Very nice....and spendy.

I have been looking at some hot rod guns again like Staccado 2011's. To be honest and a most likely purchase would be a CZ Shadow 2 with some custom options.

Some of you may remember that other day, I got scolded by a cop up in Bethlehem because I parked my truck in a "bus and fire zone" for maybe five minutes to pick a DoorDash order. This was the scene at a shopping center in Doylestown on Friday night when I picked up a DoorDash order from a pizza place.

At this point, I believe I had an encounter with what I call a BSC (Bored Suburban Cop)...

The pizza place where I picked up the order was slammed, and I waited 20 minutes to get it (almost $16 payout)...

Of all the CZ’s I owned. The Kadet was the biggest let down.
I wanted it to be “better”. But it was just “plain”.

It was me, not the actual pistol. I was expecting too much.
Hard to compare it to a well “worn in” Ruger MKII Target.

So, homelessness is a problem everywhere, but it much more obvious in some areas than other. Bethlehem - even the touristy part of Bethlehem where I (A) have gone on numerous outings with my cousin, (B) took @Stitchgirl90 on our second date, and (C) have been taking my truck during the holidays since 2020 - seems to have a major homeless problem compared to Doylestown or New Hope.

Years ago, probably somewhere in the range of 2015-2017, my cousin and I met up for dinner at the same place where I ended up taking Amanda (McCarthy's) and then browsed some of the shops. This guy approached and asked for money, and I was young and dumb back then so I gave him a couple bucks and unwittingly revealed how much money I actually had (I had a ton, I believe cash tips from my barback job). A short time later, the same guy surprised us and and asked for money again (seemingly forgetting that he had just hit us up for money), and I didn't know what to to do. My cousin dealt with the situation, we went the other way, and this guy went batshit crazy on my cousin. He was screaming at her about how rude she was for not giving him money, and we just walked away.

I'm a casual, I don't carry and I just leave them in the safe 99.99% of the time. Just comes out for range time with buddies anymore. I want a damn goofy ass cowboy gun next, gonna get a S&W 500 next I think.

I'm glad there are not a lot of homeless people around where I live. Not sure how I would deal with that.

Yes, and I am biased against them.
I traded off one of my favorite hunting rifles for one.
    Jam-o-matic. Pissed me off.

I shot others, and they are great pistols.
But it cost me a NICE Ruger M77/MkII 270 rifle.

I took a loss on that pistol too.
Because I wasn’t paying to ship it Browning. (They would not send a shipping voucher, since I didn’t have a receipt.)

I told the guy I sold it to, it would jam at least 2x per magazine.
He didn’t care, or so he said. Not for the price I let him have it for ($250).
And yes, I even bought a NEW magazine. No change, more money lost.

Again, Browning is a GREAT company.
We have a family collection of them. Sweet 16s, A5s and HiPowers.

But that damn Buckmark pissed me off.
And I am stubborn, I’m not buying another one:D

There aren't a lot of homeless people around where I live, at least not that I see. Years ago, a hitchhiker approached my truck while I was stuck in traffic on Route 611 because I simply made eye contact with him. Thankfully, traffic started moving and I floored it...

    :burnrubber:

The big issue that I've seen around here is not homeless, but group homes and section 8 housing where residents are just set loose if the weather is nice. There's this black woman who lives in a rented house in the same neighborhood as @Gwyns04 and @Stitchgirl90, who clearly has mental problems and just wanders around the neighborhood during the day. She showed up in Gwyn's yard a few weeks ago asking for money, and she had clearly wet herself; Gwyn called the cops purely out of concern for her well-being and there wasn't a whole hell of a lot they could do because she lives there.

Thankfully, this woman is terrified of dogs. Both Amanda's landlady and Gwyn have dogs (who are totally friendly, I might add), so keeping this woman away is as simple as keeping the dogs with you in the front yard.

No kidding? Mine have been flawless...but the two I bought were purchased on sale for 150.00 new many years ago. I just looked at how much they cost now and about shit myself.

As I've said many times before, when I worked at Puck, I was tasked with walking the dogs of my boss and her then-boyfriend (now husband). My boss's dog is this female Boxer/Lab mix named Tully who does not get along with other dogs but loves all people; I've known Tully since she was a tiny little puppy (she's going to be 12 next July), and she was not the issue.

The boyfriend's grumpy old Beagle mix, Murphy, was the issue; Murphy is no longer with us, but when he was alive he was not very friendly to most people. However, he loved me but wouldn't let other friends and coworkers near him. When my boss and her husband were working, I would walk the dogs while I was on the clock at Puck. Because I was one of the only people Murphy liked, I regularly got stuck walking him. Murphy barked at everyone and everything, and as a result he was very unpleasant to take on walks.

You just wouldn't see homeless out were I live...they would freeze to death right now. No place to warm up out here.
