I asked in the planner zoom chat if there’s somewhere companywide where we share them and they said it was decided against doing that because there are different types of DC and something that might take one DC an hour could take another one three hours and I said well couldn’t there at least be a baseline & each DC tweak the ones they needed …. I feel that was a huge miss on the companies part not to do something like that even if the DC were categorized with an available job plan library that are DC specific. Right after I asked that other people jumped on and said they felt the same way I did and then I had one fella start. Emailing me all of the job plans he has at his DC I’m going to reach out and see if there are any other DC that would share their job plans with me I contacted all of my managers and told them after the holidays. I want to implement a plan to start building up Our job plan library where each Planning and scheduling champion on their shifts will be required to create one job plan a week and I will schedule them the time so they have the availability to do that. I feel a little frustrated with there’s no real direction with training when I finally get this job down, I have so many things I want to create that would be helpful for new planner schedulers. Talk text hope it made sense lol

Austin‘s birthday was yesterday they’re coming over tonight for supper. I have to make my homemade beef and noodles and he wants my spice poke cake with Heath and butterfingers topping!

 

Makes perfect sense! We had the ability to look at other plants job plans and copy to our plant. We pretty well led the pack and other plants reached out to us. We could also attach the parts needed for the repair, so when you got that repair, attach the job plan, tweak if needed and done. Saves the planner tons of time! We also had what we call generic plans for bearings, gearboxes, eyewashes, etc. Same job steps for most bearings and the gearboxes we used.

 

it is so frustrating to me. I get it. There are a lot of different types of DC but you could have a Mech DC library. You could have an import DC library you could have a fashion library etc to me It’s just common sense and good business practice. It would save the company so so much money I’m so surprised they didn’t view it That way

I’m going to reach out to other Mac disease and see if we can share. Fuck it.

 

We had a monthly planner collaboration call between plants throughout the company. Lots of good info shared. Also had one for scheduling

 

We do have a Planner Scheduler weekly call and an ongoing zoom chat where everyone goes for quick questions. I don’t have enough time to jump on those calls cuz they are strict right now with OT and I have so much to do, I’m learning so everything takes me longer

I would like the job to be salary until I’m trained then I want it to be hourly again

 

Someone had a good Christmas last night

 

Some of the calls was recorded and saved so they could be watched/listened to later. We also had an online library of training/how to docs. I added about 60 to it right before I retired cuz I was the one most plants came to for help. I had 4 planners working for me so I had the time to create job aids. The last 2 yrs I was in corporate and my job was training planners
