lol. I did for testing.. but never followed up. I did end up picking up another charging handle to play with (from that Sig forum).. I was going to use it to make a custom extended charging handle as the rubber is starting to wear on that one as well. I can snag a pic when I get home.. if you want it.. you can have it. I think I paid like 50 ship[ped for it or something. otherwise.. I do want to eventually model up and mill my own charging handle. Its really just that key into the bolt that matters.. everything else beyond that can be whatever we want it to be.

overpriced.. no.. discontinued.. yes. Have only been able to find them on that Forum over the years. besides the rubber wearing out.. there's never a need to replace them.

    Sure send a pic.

At this point I am looking at AK oversized knobs to see if they would work.

Definitely. Thought about that myself. Would just have to probably open up the bore on the knob and or drill a cross hole for a role pin or set screw.

They usually come with a set screw.
The unknown would be if the hole is too big or too small.
I figured get an aluminum one and see if it would easily be modified to fit. If needed fill that bitch with JB weld

bingo.. The main reason I wanted to design one from scratch and machine it.. was because I want ed to add some cant to it, dropping it down away from the top rail.

understood, mine now is a optics friendly version. I don’t recall how I even ended up with it. But I believe it’s a factory part from years ago.

seriously I think I got it from Top Gun supply or some other bigger SIG retailer. It might even be a “Swiss” part.

I guess that depends on what the price is, ha. I saw $110-198.

    $110 - https://swissarmsusa.com/product/charging-handle-550-551-553/

    $139 - https://www.gatewoodsupplyco.com/SIG-556-Cocking-Handle_p_1100.html

    $198 - https://www.csr-precision.com/products/charging-handle-sig-sg550-551-553-pe90

If its just the rubber wearing out, why not just redip it in plasti-dip or something?

if you’re not going to keep it factory (purest freak out), might as well make it future proof.
Plastic and rubber have a shelf life, aluminum and steel will last much longer.

and honestly anything over $50-$75 for that thing is highway robbery

Does $400 for a low round used springfield hellcat micro first release version sound like a good deal?

Not sure if I the OSP version.

Thinning out my collection. 10.5" BRN-180 Gen 2 pistol in 223 Wylde. Couple hundred rounds through this maybe? Anderson lower with ambi safety, Magpul trigger guard and grip, SBA3 pistol brace.

$1250 with optic and sights. Sig Romeo 5 and Magpul MBUS2 pop ups. $1100 without.

Anyone in Phoenix or surrounding areas have one of these Winchester boxes they are throwing out?

I want it(empty of course)so don’t throw it away please. Prefer it to be in good condition for storage of something else I have.

    Thanks.

I need to admit I have a serious fucking problem. Actually this is more just a case of thinning the herd of rifles and then nothing to mount the gucci gang optics to.

    20231218_162128.jpg

Acog TA02 with red chevron reticle (battery powered ACOG) minus the RMR you see on top (I'm keeping that)
Vortex Razor HD Gen 2 3-18x with the EBR-7C (MOA) reticle
Sig Tango6T 1-6X with the Hellfire M855A1 reticle
Also have a Nightforce SHV 4-14x First focal plane optic w/ the MOAR reticle, but forgot that it was sitting in its box on the shelf.

A lot of these I know I won't get straight up $$$ or how much I put into em, but if you have desires for the finer things, I'm actually quite receptive to trades.
    Looking for stuff like:
-Good 5.56 ammo (55 grain or 77 grain, extra points if you have any frangible)
    -9mm ammo
    -Shitloads of AR mags
    -Sig P320 mags
    -Aimpoint T2, CompM5, CompM4
-Acog TA11 (the 3.5x long boi)

Show me what you've got! :D
