Just installed these LASFIT ditch light pods on the Taco. I noticed that the switch to turn the pods on/off always stay on, even when the engine is off.

To those that have these pods as well, is this normal?

That led won’t drain your battery like the blinking light when you lock the doors. You can cut the wire or replace it with an oem style switch like I did.

Do you have pics of the switch you switched to? I’m watching YT videos and still can’t understand how to wire the Lasfit wiring to an OEM style switch.

My Rough Country LED light bar came with the same switch. As mentioned it won't harm the battery but I replaced it with a OEM style switch and wired it to an ignition switched source.20231222_085618.jpg

There should be three wires for the switch. Power, ground, and relay. IMG_0455.png on the oem style switch there is a fourth wire to luminate when pressed, I don’t use that one but you can. Trace the wires back to the relay by matching the colors and attach appropriately to the oem switch. Above post is the oem style switch.

Yes, it's normal for a pepboys switch to be crap

So essentially all i’m doing is snipping the wire halfway of the old switch and parting out the wires from inside that original one and threading it into the OEM style switch wiring right?

    Following this guys instructions: https://youtu.be/nSFQVKiQDB0?si=htuLKDNTSFrXk3fG
