Oh it does as I've done plenty.

The Wacom is a computer/display you actually draw on with a pen.

When I first started using F360 I was using only .dxf because that was what I'd seen others mainly saying/doing. Then one of the most experienced people on Langmuir's site said over the years he had seen a lot less extraneous nodes (so less F360 lockups due to file size) importing .svgs. I switched and I can say he was right. I use Convertio.com and change any planned imports to SVG.

Apparently dxfs use nodes to create shapes, not vectors like svgs. Dxfs are kind of like the art form know as pointillism.

Cut a coat rack today. Still need to get the hooks and I think I will jazz up the paint. Ropes yellow and maybe add some blaze to the chest of at least one of the horses. Outside holes are for attaching to the wall.

I don’t know if you’re on a Mac or PC but you can do that with an iPad and a Mac too. And the iPad/pencil combo is actually really good. I use it a ton.

Yeah… you could almost buy a Mac and an iPad for the same. Wacom is great but is a pro tool. Just learning how to fully use them is a commitment.

I bet surface does a similar thing

I'm looking at a Hobart handler 210 with cart and tank for $1050 for a first welder. I want something that is good but not to crazy and I've been looking at these and the Millermatic 211's but haven't found any good used deals on the Miller's yet. Does that price sound reasonable for the Hobart or should I wait for a better deal? The Hobart says it's been used a few times, comes with a cart and a tank. Any help would be appreciated I have a little welding experience but not much.

Welding is 80% the person welding and 20% the welder itself

Hobart is a sound brand, but one thing I've found a lot of people don't like about them is their 'adjustments' are broken down in steps

Seeing as how it's your first welder, I'd opt with something cheaper as you might hate it, or enjoy it but not do it often enough to justify a higher cost machine who knows

He can go with the MIG180 as that'd be a great first welder

I had no problem running it passed it's rated duty cycle on 3/16" and still getting great burns

I didn't want to suggest PrimeWeld right off the bat without stating a common 'complaint' people had about the cheaper Hobart offerings

I've just been looking at used welders near me on Craigslist that have a tank.

If you've never welded, figure out first how your LWS handles welding bottles

Some don't allow just any bottles and need you to buy into theirs, some only refill, and some would take whatever you've got as an exchange

    Don't buy into it blindly

I was playing with (practicing) my welder (Miller 211), and was having a problem with vertical uphill welding. Hopefully someone will have a solution.

I started laying down flat welds. I am not using Autoset mode. I was happy with my flat welds - as long as I did my part, I made a nice weld.

Switching to vertical uphill, some were OK, some were way off. I adjusted the heat and wire speed, but could not figure out how to make it work. The uphill weld started fine, then the buzzing stopped, the wire continued to feed and melt, the piece was hot (red), but I ended up with a blob of melted wire and no penetration. This behavior was repeatable.

To convince myself I hadn't totally lost it, on one piece, I welded a flat weld (with success) and immediately welded uphill, with the problem.

    What am I missing?

And, since I know everyone likes pictures, here some of my successes. All of these were welded in the flat position. Not dimes, but good heat penetration.

Settings are completely different going uphill and downhill vs flat

Why are you going uphill on such a wide open corner?

I can't remember ever welding uphill MIG welding.

It's a skill used more for structural stick welding.
