I feel like they have become so popular among the 4Runner/tacoma owners that now when I see grille lights approaching, it’s one of those 2 vehicles like 90% of the time. Soon they won’t even be called Raptor lights

 

"Raptor lights" are just soooo ... "Ford". Ugh.

@Nadjr Great looking sliders and color combo. Is it practical to also use those sliders as steps ? Do you think the sliders will help with door dings ? thank you for any help.

I must admit, I drove to Carson City, NV. to pick up the parts and some pew pew stuff. So I went from, basically, sea level in CA. to the mountains. The truck is absurd heading up through Tahoe. Just gutless and shifts all over the place. Its annoying and makes me miss boost and a manual.
I installed the piece at my parent's place and drove it around town. Zero register on the butt dyno. I really felt nothing. Once we left and we hit the mountains and highway, that is when I noticed differences in shifting and acceleration through the mid range at highway speeds. So, when passing mouth breathing tourist drones hogging the left lane, I could feel a noticable difference. This morning, when leaving for work, I was forced to pass a hybrid zombie while entering the highway. It was noticable in this case as well. So, between 40mph and 80mph. In that window. The accelaration is more linear. It feels nice.

PSA: If you cannot maintain the speed limit in the left lane, GTFO of the way. Thank you.

I am not a fan of hunting automatic transmissions.
On our RAV4 and my new Tacoma, I use either ECT mode, or lock the trans into D3 for slow streets, and D4 for faster ones.
This is as close as I will get to a MT from here on out... I do miss the MT, but it was Unobtanium in a new model late in the year.

Its a 50 State K&N intake with the Airaid TB spacer and AFE exhaust. The spacer is the new contraband piece. So, like, .0003 HP.

 

The "hunting" makes me want to go full Negan on my own cranium.

Made it. The material comes in a 15 in roll similar to aluminum foil. Used tin snips and plastic hammer to form around piece of angle iron.

I installed an HPS Intake tube to the factory CAI. With or without a performance gain, it’s worth the mod just for added space in engine bay with no resonator.

Super tough install. Been struggling with a good solution to have Kleenex readily available with such limited space.

my kids found these at Target and bought me a 3-pack. Should last me a year!

fit perfectly in the tiny cup holders.

(note the center storage bin has other stuff in it and best I can fit in there are the little travel packs and they are often a pain to get them when driving).
