Yeeppp, I don’t want to derail this thread too much lol but I posted more about it a while back in my build thread if you’re curious.

I’m torn between getting rid of this set because they’re so loud or keeping them because I really think I could get close to 100K miles out of them. I’m dying to know how many miles I can actually get out of them. Ya know…a “keep them for science” type thing lol.

They’re still at 11/32nds tread. The noise is just a lot to stomach for an AT. They’re louder than the Yoko G003’s I used to have (when they were new).

Same. Out of the 5 I bought, one is f'd and can't seem to be balanced ( I tried regular balancing, road forced balancing, balancing beads) so it has become my spare. It has caused me to think twice about getting another set when I go to 35's.

Are the sides supposed to flap at highway speeds? Nothing I can hear but can see moving in the mirrors. The back corners were super snug the first couple days but with driving and letting it get rained on it seems to have stretched a bit and isn’t such a snug look.No issue other than visual. Could be totally normal too. I’ll post a pic here shortly of the twill topper too

I've never seen any flapping at all on the sides while driving. It might appear in the mirrors like the sides are being sucked in just slightly at highway speeds, but that may just be perception. Might be a matter of dialing in the fit (straps, pivot pin location) as the material stretches. All in all fitment for mine has always been tight.

Yeah the sides being sucked in and moving with the wind is a better description. There’s nothing flapping or slapping around

Right on. I've never noticed any movement but always thought it looked a bit sucked in. Was never sure if it was real or just my imagination. It makes sense that it would.

I don’t know why I can’t edit this photo into the last post. Any advice would be appreciated. Do I have the rear straps pulled too snug? I only pulled them taut

Compared to mine that does look a bit loose on the sides. Mine's older and not twill obviously so there may be comparison differences between materials. But I think it's probably worth some adjustments to snug it up a bit.

The frame pivot (on mine) has a pin with a high and low mount. Mine's in the high position. Brings the entire frame up just a bit and snugs everything up if that helps.

I will try that. I’m on the middle pin. It is as difficult to snap on but the twill has definitely stretched since. Will report back thanks

Realigned the rails, adjusted clamps and got them tightened down the same all around, and went up to the top pin. Seems to have fixed the issue for now. Fingers crossed the twill doesn’t stretch out too much on the top pin. It looked great the first few days I put it on then started getting saggy at the rear end on middle pin. Not a huge difference in height, but I actually can notice it being a little taller using the top pin too, looks great. Thanks for the help fellas. Any pic requests of the twill material topper I’m more than happy to accommodate

Glad it tightened up for you. From the pics, that twill looks like a solid material.

I like the flat black look, did you clean it at all between any of your photos? Close up you can tell it has some dirt on it but the photos from further away look pretty clean. How’s the back window? The Softopper website says they “upgraded” it, and am curious as to what the upgrade actually is. Either way it looks great on your truck!

Thanks! I did not clean it in between photos, however I took a couple trips down my road. It’s dirt and been raining the past few days so every trip adds a decent layer right now. The topper has some dirt on it in both pics. Not sure of the old window quality as it’s my first topper but no complaints here. Rolled it up a few times and no scratches. There was a dimple or two in the window when I pulled it out of the box but no creasing or anything serious like that. Hardly noticeable once I put it on the truck. Tint is better than I thought, you can see out of the rear view mirror pretty good but can’t see in up close. It’s covered in dirt right now but I can take another pic of the back window when I rinse it off tomorrow or the next day

    Nothing worthy

Interesting, I can't say i feel they are more noisy than my last set of AT's, only one I can hear/feel is the feathered tire. I love the look and how few people have them, so I will continue to purchase this tire.

Are you sure it's a balance issue?? Thought the same with mine, it's balanced but feathered, giving it an off balance feel and sound.

Now back on track. Topper, Grabbers and a dog.
As for the topic of HWY use, I have found getting your side rails, and skeleton rails all in the optimal position really helps with flapping at speed. I Can just barely snap canvas in place for the tight fit and finish.

Not the Greatest pic but it arrived today and I got it on the truck. I used the lowest pin setting so I'm sure that's why it's a little wrinkled. I'll let loosen up a bit before messing with it.

Picked one up few days ago. Been researching what to clean it with and 303 seems pretty popular.
