Sounds like you need a Tundra Crew Max, back seat is far enough away to keep him kicking yours. Guessing easier to get the car seats in and out.

Really hard to beat a truck or SUV if you’re into the outdoors, though I loved our VW Westy we had for 8 years, but those things have the cool factor that minivans do not. Not really good from trails, but great for camping.

Every now and then think of getting a 80s Syncro and do a Subaru engine swap…then think I would rather smash both my thumbs with a four pound sledge. lol!

See how it does against the hybrid, spoiler it's going to get blown away . I wish they had matched it against the super charged first gen

But then the Tacoma fanboys would chime in with, “I didn’t buy a Tacoma to win a drag race. I bought one so it would suck at towing, hunt gears on the freeway, and install Raptor lights on my grille even though I piss all over Fords. And don’t ask me about my peeling white paint, or the timing chain cover leak that costs thousands to fix, it’s still better than the 1999 S-10 I owned!”

Pretty good view of the 4th gen putting multiple car lengths on the 3rd gen for all who said the improvement "isn't noticeable"
But yeah that higher output Colorado smoked it

Nice! Yeah it is tough being a gear head with the attention span of squirrel on crank. Look at friggin’ everything. If I ever had a massive windfall, the garage would be like Jay Leno’s.

With how much the Tacoma is commanding money-wise, believe people are looking at what else is out there for the same coin. At $60K opens up a lot of options.

I would hope the hybrid beats it with an extra motor, batteries and thousands more cash.
They need to get a second gen Tacoma in that race against the 4th since it was faster than the third back in the day.

I have to ask myself. Self, do I want a $60k Tacoma? It's a much easier decision when they cost south of $40k.

    Yup.

$60k and $40k vehicles are two different careers.

The $60k price point is where shit starts to get real.

Even if you're in a "$60k vehicle career", which I suspect many of us on here are, is a vehicle really where you want THAT much money tied up?

When thinking about that $20k price delta, don't think how long it takes you to gross it, or net it. Think about how long it takes you to SAVE it.

Must be scared of the competition, if a thread gets locked over it. Didn’t really see anyone being all that nasty more than normal in there. Odd….

Sub $40K for a Tacoma seems reasonable, over $50K into the $60Ks absolutely not for a mid-size.

Them killing the AC pushes me into a SR5 DCLB, with no options or packages, that is an easy $50K OTD by the time you add tax, extended warranty and licensing on. Certainly makes me look other options that is for sure. Want to run out and buy a ‘23 ACLB and stick it in hermetically sealed storage.

@Plasmech yeah, I am in the retail business, means I have sell that much more to make up the difference. If I have to work harder going to be a heck of more picky on how I spend it.

In Turds defense every Canyon has the high output motor. Also for the price difference it’s silly to not consider getting a Colorado with the higher ratings.
Furthermore that’s not a base Tacoma in the shootout. It is the standard motor in the OR/Sport/Limited.

We had a great discussion about warranties going on too. I guess the mod that closed it paid for an extended warranty :(
