I had it on for about 4 months. First 2 weeks I loved the look of it. After that I had mad remorse.

The fender was sourced from the same year and paint truck, $250 there from salvage yard. I had to swap my original fender flare to that because the one that came on the replacement was mangled from them uninstalling it. Then I had to buy an OEM air intake hose because that also has to be modified for the snorkel. Another $100. Then whatever the antenna is gonna set me back.:bananadead:

The pin stripe and the plastic clips were a bother. Redid the striping 3 or 4 times. I broke about 8 of those plastic fasteners but thankfully I had those on hand. Took me probably 4-5 hours mainly because one of the snorkel bolts was in such a tight spot it took me an hour manipulating the wrench to get it loose. Between that and that dumb design of an antenna being seized. Should have been a 2 hour job.

Unfortunately I gotta get that antenna and get that installed. I tried so hard to get it off but it just snapped the wiring. Was super pissed about it. Oh well.

I did a metric ton of pin striping in the early 80’s I also hope I never see another roll of that stuff again :annoyed:

    Replaced Genuine 6pcs 90919-02248 UF495 Ignition Coils

Replaced Upper Control Arm SPC Ball joint left and right then greased plus seafoam done before doing oil change.

Firestone wheel alignment and Discount tire rotation done.

    Question:

I have been using a Full Synthetic High Mileage Oil and change them less than 5k miles is that normal i havent even hit 5k miles yet and whats the max months should i change oil because i change oil since jan of this year lol im asking because im hearing people says you can go 10k miles without changing is that true guess if you drive a lot or i am good on what i have been doing or i can push it a little further i only use the truck to work which about 10miles one way and once in a blue moon of 3hr to 14hr travel.

Upgraded my window switches. Didn’t think I really needed it but I bought it anyway. Now I wish I had done it sooner.

Put new wheels (16x8, 0 offset) & tires on today. Maxed out at 265/75-16, because why not? Also did new pads and rotors, so my day was spent beating the sh*t out of the rusty retainer pins, and breaking the rotors free. They were all stubborn, but I finally won. Happy about the result, and ready for snow to hit tomorrow.

Upgraded the headlights to some Alpha Owls. Pretty happy with them thus far other than a random wire that I need to rectify in the passenger side bulb. Also blacked out the badges and upgraded the air filter. Next up is Gen3 TRD wheels vs. the Baja wheel upgrade.

If warranty exchange isn't an option, look up the BHLM mod. You'll probably have to throw it in an oven to loosen the glue to remove the front cover and reseal it.

I walked out of my house and just admired it there. alone in the driveway.. then hopped into my company ford transit and drove away. Pondering future builds and versions of the truck that have yet to come to life.

Yeah I’d make them send you a new one. For how much those things cost, that wire looks like hell.

I found mine on Amazon got a good deal over Black Friday. Probably the same that you get from Cartrimhome.
