I completely agree. The cigs are booze were sucking the energy out of me, and not adding anything useful in return.

Good work on sticking with it, especially through the holidays!

 

Same for me, I haven't had a beer in almost 7 years. That was the major source for alcohol intake for me. If I have an occasional glass of wine (literally 1 glass in the evening) my head feels like it get kicked by Mike Tyson the next morning. I didn't comprehend how much of a constant "fog" I was in until it all detoxed from my body.

The old trusty 3rd gen T4R passed the emissions test. I love that old rig, I just don't how much longer I can keep it on the road with the frame rust. I saw a nice 5th gen at a dealership in Billings- 2018 w/ 82K on it. TRD OR version, and no sunroof! $28K.. It's tempting to catch a flight out there to check it out.

 

havent had a hangover since i was a teenager & got blood poisoned... fell in the fountain at the Ozzy concert... back in 83! lol

almost alcohol free now. just a casual glass or shot with friends. will go months at a time with none.

I stopped drinking and smoking 35 years ago. Didn't drink for 20 years, didn't touch another cigarette.
Now my drinking habits are a drink maybe once a month and the occasional beerfest with friends, probably 4 times a year.

Food is my only vice and I am hoping to control that when I retire.

Just had left overs from yesterday's Christmas dinner and it was as tasty as yesterday's feast . Now waiting to digest to make room for a large slice of homemade Apple pie that my SIL made !!!!!

Weesa had to move, I retired, Marty caught a real fish, Jim got banned, Mark is trying to bake with one eye tied behind his back, and rocketman is...goodish, RJ seems to pop in whenever the wind blows this direction. Martin spends too much time in the sun, and Miss Susan had to do the afib thing again, Mqqse is AWOL

Let's see.... my last posting was in May. Sooooo:

House-sat for a month in Alexandria VA. Got to hang with @Tiny's Taco for a day, visited lots of museums on the Mall. Volunteered at the Law Enforcement Memorial services. Took in a ballgame too.
June, I hiked across the canyon. Again. Drove some more furniture from our AZ place out to Omaha.
July, hiked up the the AZ highpoint, Mount Humphrey's at 12,637' Took a quick hop up to Bellingham WA (again) to look at some property.
August, watched AF1 land, and later take off, from tiny Grand Canyon airport.
Lots of hiking and camping interspersed in all those months.
September. Hiked Kilimanjaro. Spent a few days in Italy afterwards.
October. Flew to Bellingham. Yet again.
November, closed on our new place in Washington. Drove a Uhaul from Omaha to WA. Went back to Omaha to clear it out for sale. (Anyone wanna buy a really cool condo right in downtown Omaha?? Seriously!)
December. Holidays, planning our new place, planning next years travels.

Where am I? at this very moment, still at the Canyon. Headed to WA in a couple weeks, going to Omaha for one last hurrah late January. Then I'll be in WA more than 50% of the time til the Husband retires for good.

Me, I have a few things to finalize at work, then I am retired. 36 years of working for the sane corp. My wife won't retire for a few years so no travel plans, other than Death Valley and Oregon
