I tried to get a 95 Tacoma smogged today and the tech failed it saying there were aftermarket headers installed without the EO# sticker (California). Can someone confirm if these are stock or aftermarket?

Any idea what they are? I'm trying to get in touch with the original owner but no luck so far.

Take as many as you can, including from below. One of us will be able to identify them.

In the meantime I’d start looking for a set of OEM headers or look for any aftermarket that have an EO as you’re flagged now.

What is the part number for the OEM headers?

I'll wait until morning to take some more pics

If you can identify them you will likely be able to download a copy of the CARB EO sticker for them on the internet.

    What’s an EO?
My truck was originally from California it’s specked out for that State.
Why does the Fit look like shit?
I’ve seen WAAAAY worse than this as a matter of fact these look just fine.

Looks like eBay “TRD Headers”. They’ll never pass because the eBay manufacturers don’t bother paying the CARB tax.

No, not stock. 1995-2000 four cylinder trucks had cast iron manifolds.

However, if you want to go back to stock, I don't recommend you replace them with the cast iron ones which are prone to cracking. The 2001-2004 2RZ/3RZ engines came with tubular exhaust headers, and they are a factory part so they should be kosher with the SMOG rep.

Ignore, my advice applies to the four cylinders.

Knock-off clone copies of real TRD headers.

An EO# is a number assigned to an aftermarket part that makes it legal for use. Without out the EO# the part is not smog/CARB legal.

How long have you owned the truck?

The seller is responsible for the smog in CA. Did the PO get it smogged for you prior to your purchase? If so, take it to that shop and see if they will smog it again.

Looks like there’s not a y / cross over pipe behind the heads - does that dump into two separate collector pipes on each side or is it just tucked in where it can’t be seen? If it’s not a typical y pipe behind the engine it’s probably hand made.

Looks like you’d need a set with the EGR system. I have a few sets of headers but none with that unfortunately. Maybe someone that wants to get rid of their egr could trade with / sell it to you - but it might require the full exhaust if you want it all to bolt in - hard to say without pics of the cat area under the truck.
