Looking for gut reactions, anecdotes and other pearls of wisdom from you awesome TacomaWorld folks with more experience than I have.

if I really wanted my low mileage 3rd gen to make 200k+ miles, then should I be more worried about the wear and tear from oversized tires (33's, either 285's or pizza cutters. Both seem to only come in heavy E load) or an intermediate lift (2-3 inches) with slightly smaller tires?

In my noobie brain, I would rather replace wheel bearings, hub assemblies, rotors, etc. after premature wear due to Big Tires, rather than chasing vibrations forever, bad u-joints or pinion angles, stressing the CV joints, etc. from an Intermediate Lift.

am I worrying too much, or could someone steer me towards focusing more on bigger tires versus a sane lift without hurting long term durability of the truck?

The more extreme you go with both tire size and lift will increase the rate you wear everything else out. If done properly though, you should have no problem reaching 200k+ miles.

Everyone will give suggestions on how to accomplish that but really the specifics don't matter. Well, maybe other than keeping lift small (I'd say around max of 2") and tire size to max 33". But it sounds like you have that figured out already.

Best way to gain longevity regardless of these mods is to modify your driving habits. Driving like a maniac either on or off road will drastically reduce longevity and reliability. If you have that figured out, you should be good.
