Cool. I posted that for me, those two items (among a few others) plus Toyota’s history is worth $1k.

I love ACC on my Taco, stupid that Ford and GM do not make it standard.

No 6’ bed on the GM puts it off the list for me, would consider a Silverado DC6.5 with 5.3 though.

Dunno about Toyotas history, all the ones I owned needed attention. Have a very long list of repairs including two engines. Can take or leave the reputation as it is all relative.

It is silly it isn’t standard, but if a person can’t fill out an option sheet they probably shouldn’t be driving at all.

Pretty sure GM does that for the fleet buyer to get the bottom line as low as possible. While Toyota doesn’t do fleet vehicles.

Short bed doesn’t matter for me. I don’t take that much stuff camping. I don’t need or want a Silverado sized vehicle so I’d never consider such a thing

While every vehicle needs attention, Toyota’s reputation is well earned and worth a significant amount to me.

We are out picking up feed for the animals, 6’ bed is barely enough.

We have owned enough vehicles and equipment over the years to realize they are all crap. Just pick your poison.

LOL. Why do they get so offended and angry about trucks? It just a fun comparison of the different trucks on the market. No need to get worked up about it.

Yeah I don’t have animals to feed so 5’ is enough for dirt bikes.

having also had tons of vehicles, toyota is by far the least crappy, and stats back that up.

The big question is whether that reputation is still worth paying more for a Toyota.
I’ve still yet to see anyone list any of these major problems with the Colorado.

Along with adaptive cruise, LED headlights, and other items, it’s easily worth $1k to me

25 years old, please. Of course it does.

    Far less than a 25yo s-10 would

Thats the base truck. What about the nicer trims that seem to have a price difference of several thousand.

Is that really true of just your perception. I see plenty of old Chevy trucks and SUVs on the road. More than I see old Toyotas. Most likely because the Toyotas rusted in half.

They generally still fit within a few grand of comparably equipped trucks. A few grand is worth Toyota to me. If if not to you, that’s cool also

How many second gen s-10s do you see daily? How many first gen Tacomas?

how many first gen colorados do you see? How many second gen Tacomas?

    etc

that said, you may not see the same value. If you don’t, I encourage you to follow your heart as I’ll follow mine

Give it to me, I can break it! Have twisted and snapped driveshafts in our 2.5 Ton dump before, think that thing had about the same torque as a Tacoma hybrid, and built a hell of a lot heavier.

I see probably equal amounts of both brands. I’ll ask for the 10th time. What are these problems with the GM trucks that are allegedly keeping them off the road?

Bigger doesn’t necessarily mean stronger. Isn’t this new shaft aluminum. It’s probably thin walled to save weight. This driveshaft talk just reminded me of another item that broke on my unbreakable Tacoma. The u joints wore out and then the drive shaft cracked while replacing them. Had to buy a whole new shaft. All these things that break when you actually keep a truck for more than three years.
