So I recently replaced my front shock assemblies and rear shocks but haven't done the leafs. I have stock ride height and would like to keep it close because I don't want the rear end way higher than the front. My current leafs are flat so I think I need to replace. What are my options?

I have heard there are 3rd gen take offs that will fit just fine. I don't mind an inch or so of lift.

I have tried searching the for sale page but I don't seem to know how to search just 2nd or 3rd gen pages.

There was a recall on rear leaf springs on some model years. Toyota replaced mine as part of the recall several years ago when I was right at 200,000 miles. My truck is an 2007 and I'm thinking the 09's were part of the recall. It wouldn't hurt to contact a Toyota service department.

My 09 had the springs replaced, but there may be a 12 year limitation on replacement. I know there was with the frame rail tsb.

So I think they were replaced because when I bought it about 100k miles ago there was a sticker on the leaf springs and they looked brand new. They are a 4pack so I think the original was 3.

If those are 4 leafs, they are newer. Personally, I'd just install some air bag suspension and call it a day. I don't even have 100k on my truck overall

I don't think these are looking all that bad from these pics. Why do you think you need new ones? Or were these old pics?

I had mine replaced by a dealer under the recall. Also four leaf. Noticing immediately, I asked the service manager why truck leaf springs are flat. He said that's the way they are. Haven't had any issues.

Yeah, flat is pretty much normal. It's when they are arched the wrong way or a W shape that they are usually worn out.

Now you got me curious why you want/need Timbrens. You looking for better load carrying or something?

The miles don't matter so much as what you've hauled in the truck. One time hauling my camper stock and a brand new truck's leaf springs would be toast. But just driving with only small occasional loads they will last a long time.

Well, last year I hauled an over weight trailer across the country and have done that again 2-3 times this year, which is abnormal for me, but I expect to do it again in the somewhat near future and want to be better prepared and not ruin my truck in the process.

Thanks but I just installed 4600s and want to keep the lift in back similar to the lift up front, which is not much. 1.5 inches wouldn't be terrible, may have to change headlight aim. My understanding is most aftermarket parts raise it 2+ inches and idk if that's a good idea.

    These won’t lift the back.

You can get a custom leaf pack from Alcan for whatever increase in lift you want.

I'm not trying to lift, just replace old springs unless flat is ideal?

When I replaced my leafs, I didn't want to lift the rear either. OEM leafs were crazy expensive so I ordered a custom pack from Alcan (although I ended up ordering a set with 1" of lift). They were about half the price as OEM. You can order a set that is same height as factory from Alcan.

edit: yes the stock OEM leafs are flat, which is normal. Odd I know, but that is how they were made. Seeing how your truck is an '09, it would be a good idea to replace all suspension front and back.
