36 right now in winter, mileage is a tick better, ride is fine, and gives me a cushion on cold mornings so the TPMS isn't all pissy.

How's the ride quality of a 255 E-rated tire on a high-end suspension like Fox 2.5 or King? I imagine low speed driving will not have much effect however higher speeds should in theory dampen some of the rigidity of E's. :notsure:

I've only got the Bilstein 5100's, but I actually find ride quality has improved from my 32" C Load Duratracs.(265/75/16). But it was expected as the Duratracs have the most aggressive A/T thread. They weren't rough by any means, but were louder, "and" better in the snow.

But my E load Wildpeaks are quieter on the highway, and I like them.

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to give you a shoutout on how good your truck looks. This in my opinion is the perfect stance for a Tacoma. The tires are larger in diameter for clearance however the 255s are by no means too lean looking. I have a black 2013 with the same wheels and now I'm thinking about this tire size. I might still go with 255/75/17 to say in the XL load series range, but it shouldn't look much different than these.

Thanks to everyone that’s contributed in this thread. Today I had some 255/80/17 falken wild peaks installed (no suspension mods) on my 2018 OR. Not even a full day with them but they look & feel great so far.

Came from some general grabbers atx, hopefully these do better in the rain.

Wildpeaks are fantastic in rain, snow and wear. That’s what AT3W stands for: wet, winter and wear.

    Just some stuff...
Is it easier to get them to clear than a normal sized tire of the same height?

So recently got 255/75r17 michelein defender lxt on. Did the psi calculator, says 29 psi so that’s what i set it to. Someone came up to me and said they look flat. Are they too low? I have a 16 sr5. Oem tires were 245/75/16

    Is oem not 245/70/16 ?

Regardless, I wouldn't run them any lower than what the door jam says, nor higher than 35 psi unless I was carrying a lot of weight, or towing.

Ok Pizza People. I've been trying to get a feel for what will and won't work on my 2018 TRD Sport, stock suspension, 17" wheels.

It sounds like the 255/80/17s with that setup would rub without some cutting/trimming, but I was hoping someone here could confirm either way.

Also, I'd be towing on these and using LT tires. Would love to hear about anyone's experience pizza cutting with a trailer.

    Thanks for your perspective/experience.

Sup, TRD OR on stock suspension running this size of Falken Wildpeaks. I experienced the slightest rubbing when first installed but before an alignment. Did very minor, very newbie friendly cutting as well as heat gun molding of my inner fenders which alleviated the rubbing. Then got an alignment and it's perfect. I take my truck down some pretty shitty roads in the summer and have not had any issues with excessive rubbing. Rubbing probably occurs when flexed and turning but I haven't really done any specific testing to find the max.

I've had this setup for about a year now. The goal eventually is a lift but this "poor man's lift" has been really great for me in the meantime. Came from stock 16" wheels.

Did an off road alignment get your rub sorted out?
