So the question stemmed from a guy complaining that he can't be bothered with filling and draining his water table each and every day.

I merely suggested using plasma table fluid additive; the "expensive" stuff still ranges at $200 and will last more than a year or two even.

I got shit on by 4-5 different dudes that use water only and they just drain it etc. The dog pile continued from others agreeing with me since the fluid is cheap when you consider how long it lasts, minimal maintenance (once a year), and that everything else is more expensive IE consumables.

I ain't going back to reply but it's just funny how they get into CNC plasma only to complain about the cost of shit.

But yeah if you drain and fill regularly, non-issue.

We had a guy for that, at a hobbyist level especially people that aren't cutting everyday, just fill with water honestly. Water is cheap and you can dispose of it anywhere after.

Since y'all actually discuss engine shit around here and seem to be way more knowledgeable than I regarding engine internals, please take a look at what I just got in the mail.

Note the lovely "no remedy available" stamp which seems stupid AF. Replace said bolts and use some damn threadlocker or whatever this time..

Do I really need to worry about this?

Are there symptoms I could catch before things go tits up? (I felt and replaced the plugs misfiring before the ECU said boo)

In the "what could happen" section it mentions the car kicking into limp mode - by then it's already gonna be fuct, right?

Don't worry about it, the VANOS bolt breaking has been a community noted issue for a long time. If it breaks now at least BMW will cover it. Nothing catastrophic happens, the car is just down on power. My 135i I replaced them to be safe.

    Thank-you.
I am mostly annoyed that there is 'no fix' = nonsense.

I take really good care of my 128i
Never had an internal engine issue in any car I have owned and I don't wanna start now

Running out of booze at the vacation rental. Got gin and ginger ale on hand, which together I thought would be nasty but turns out it's called a Gin Buck and is really quite good.

Not gin and tonic good, but I was pleasantly surprised

esta bien :) i have been telling them that i'm a student and practice with you occasionally but then they still hit me with headscratchers

goood I am losing it, I did years of spanish and capstone 15 minute presentation + 15 minute Q+A with someone from Mexico in HL spanish and was deemed "fluent" but it's true that if you don't use it you lose it...

between this guy, his wife, and myself we were able to fumble through determining that he just wanted the glass out of the side mirror and would silicon it into his housing but none of us could remember the word for glass :homer:
