Could make the 5’ work, but would have to grab my trailer. Kinda nice not having to though.

True, they all will end up at the salvage yard one day, some sooner than others. Dunno, Toyotas fit me the best, go drive others, and always happy when I jump back in my Tacoma…something about it. They changed the ergonomics in the 4th Gen, hopefully they didn’t screw it up…guessing they did, since they kinda screw up a bunch of other things.

You absolutely do not see equal amounts of second gen s-10s and first gen Tacomas.

Chevy made a quarter million of those things a year in the late 90s. They’re rare as hens teeth now

No it doesn’t. Had the driveshaft done three times in my 1st Gen, getting its fourth here shortly.

Far more than s-10s. Just take a look at what available on your used market

Why are you so incapable of googling yourself. It's the history of that brand , not necessarily the current get. Gm and chevy have been know to have a shitty product or do you forget 2006 2007 bail out?

Toyota received some if that too.

There was also a rumor they sought 3 Billion from the Japanese government but deny it.

    Did get bank loans though.

What do I google? Imaginary Chevy Colorado problems?
The bail out had nothing to do with a shitty product. We had a financial collapse.

Are you nuts? Do you not remember we had a huge financial crisis going on called the Great Recession.

Let’s see… that time period was the 2nd Gen Tacoma…would say yes, because those frames had rust issues like the 1st Gen. There was one in the shop getting a new frame when my 1st Gen was getting a new engine.

Buddy of mine has a 2009 2nd Gen, gave him so many fits that he gave up and bought a Subaru Outback. I feel little bad because at the time he bought the Tacoma listening to me rave about Toyotas, years later he said to me, thought these things were supposed to be good!? (Sorry man) I no longer recommend vehicles to people, at the point of…”I have no idea, buy whatever and off it before the warrant is up”

The factory halogens in my 2017 Tacoma Off-road were terrible. They were very weak and made it difficult to see. The factory LED’s in my 2021 Tacoma Off-road are really terrific.

Coming off a 1st Gen with weathered headlights, my ‘21 halogens seem super bright! Some of the back roads I take, don’t even use the high beams since I get too much glare off of the signs.

On coming traffic with LEDs, find annoying bright. Think, do they really need to be that bright??? Geebas…

I get more HP, better fuel mileage, and I’m sure if my truck was an automatic… I wouldn’t have any gear hunting issues either from my awesome LED headlights.

    Lol!

Competition is a good thing, at least one would assume. While I love my Tacoma, do get a little bored with it, and have the itch to try something else.

I agree, when I start getting bored with the Tacoma I remind myself no one else offers the 3rd pedal. I would like some more torque though. Can’t even haul a firewood trailer without bogging down and running out of power.
