^On the flip side, 35s are livable with 4.30 gearing.

ARB had a 4th gen on 35s in its SEMA booth, and ARB is as conservative as they come. I suspect 35s will become a mainstream upgrade with 4th gens, as 33s are with 3rd gens today. Influencers will have to go up to 37s.

Now it has built-in gas cap holder. Door hinge is now plastic:

Note the detent that holds the door closed is also built into the hinge.

Its convenient until its not... it adds a whole new level of aggravation when you have a fuel or evap system related CEL than...just get a new gas cap. I wouldn't wish that aggravation on anybody.

Look how long it took to get rear disc brakes. Maybe they will implement this breakthrough gas cap technology on the 6th gen.

A lot of gas station nozzles don't like the cap-less fill necks. The nozzle won't click off when it gets full, leading to spills and angry customers

    Chryslers are especially bad..

It should... it's got a Raptor "style" filler door already.Screenshot_20231229-104924_Gallery.jpg

I'd like to have a Raptor in Avalanche gray.20231229_093312.jpg

Wife said I can have one, test drove a few, put together a nice deal on one, just couldnt pull the trigger, end of the day its still not a Toyota and I know that sounds terrible, just something about the way they feel and drive.

Definitely not a Toyota, I don't know if I could daily a Raptor guess I would get used to it. Presuming they can be quick, and softly sprung.

I believe the hybrid tacoma is capless.

It isn't as reliable. Capless systems rely on a flapper on the fill hole together with a gasket around the fuel door to seal against fuel vapors. Both features degrade more rapidly with dirt and salt contamination compared to the O-ring on a conventional gas cap.

Some design trends like a PRNDL shifter sized like a wiper stalk, should be allowed to die:

    ^Kenworth T680 i.e. "commercial grade truck"

BMW had a stalk shifter in the 7-series at the turn of the century, but eventually they recanted:

    Do not want!

Don’t even care for column shifters, spent most of my life driving manuals.

    Lots to come
Exactly. For most of us, the few times a year that we need to haul something that cant fit in a 5' bed, uhaul rents open trailers for around $25/day. If someone finds themselves in situations where a 5' bed isnt enough on a regular basis, then a tacoma isnt the truck for them and they really could benefit buying a full size truck with a 6 or 8 foot bed.

I’m wondering about the fenders too. My understanding is that the pro and TH have wider fenders
