It's less Tacoma and more mod
I swapped out for 4.56, on paper it's just slightly more advantage in torque over 4.10s and 30s. Just some used diffs, some good deals out there sometimes.

I wondered if finding some OEM 4.30 diffs would be worth the trouble of swapping. Still would be under geared compared to stock tires and 4.10s though. Im always surfing marketplace for deals as well.

Hell ya, always like your truck, for a while it was my trucks "twin".

And it just depends on the parts. Injectors were $30/ea, coils, $40, oils a bit more expensive, but some of the unique parts get spendy. Thermostat $200, Power steering pump $500 intake cams $2000 :anonymous: but the driving experience is worth it.

Incredibly impressive. I still cruise down I25 at 80 in 5th. Less than ideal though. Lots of downshifting :bananadance:

Too many example, here's one of a thousand.

You can look up his username, posts here, and use a keyword like MPG.

He asked when he first got his truck what kind of MPGs he should be getting, and posts what he averages. The thread as a whole all answered him how that's stock, and he's got a lift even. Asks the same question on a different day here, to the same members, repeating it all over again. He did this maybe 6 times in a single year and went to post a separate thread asking the same.

In short, he questions everything, skepticism knows no bounds. He takes an example of one thing he's read or heard (mostly heard, he's on many platforms) and spreads the information as if it were factual.

You should see how many times he's asked about his u bolts. We told him to look directly at his truck when he asked about replacements, then left it at that (he posted a set that would go around the housing for a u bolt flip, not the squared end for the plate)

Yea I gotchu. I’ve only ever heard of issues with the R-series when they were used in the 105 series and HZJ80 Land Cruisers, I guess since they were almost twice the weight of our mini trucks. I’ve hardly ever heard a peep about Toyotas truck gearboxes though other than that,

It’s a good thing there’s not a medical forum on here.

Did you ever ad a crawlbox. I wish we had a gear driven tcase like the old 22re trucks so you could just throw reduction gears in there.

Did you decide if you were gonna lease that 3rd Gen? You know, something with warranty?
