I see many questions daily on here about oil and fluids and I get it I wonder the same things from time to time so I sent my last few oil change samples off and my transmission fluid sample to a well known reputable lab for analysis.. mind you lots of ppl say not to change ATF fluid if you’ve waited passed 100k miles or so… my FIRST was at 141k miles and these are my results(2nd drain and fill process in truck) 171k miles.. Ive never flushed completely I’ve now done a drain and fill process for the 3rd time taking my first sample on my 3rd drain and fill(these results) my process of drain and fill is drain pan and measure what comes out the fill pan with exact amount plus .5 quarts for 3 consecutive days after work. Each morning at startup of these 3 days I pull overfill plug once pan is 90-110 degrees and drain out excess then torque and replace crush washer after 3rd day.
I’ve never pulled the ATF filter nor changed it in my truck. It’s original filter. I’m not recommending ppl wait to change transmission fluids like I did just giving info in my case. This is a 30k mile interval. The far right column is universal average for Tacomas with this ATF after 38,100 miles for reference

Here is my 1st engine oil sample on the truck and yes it’s a very short interval of 3k miles but just kinda decided to do this one day on a whim once my lab kits came and it got me a base to go by and at least let me see what everything seemed to be doing after a lot of miles regardless of interval. I’m waiting on my 2nd which should be delivered any day now and I’ll share it as well. The next will be 5k miles.

A few notes that could be important to consider or possibly helpful.
I did buy the truck new in October of 2018.
I have regularly changed engine oil every 5-8k miles.
I change oil filter every other oil change.
I have regularly changed the air filter.
I do tow a 16 ft tandem axle trailer with this truck once or twice a month at near max load. I have had kd max or ott tune on this truck since around 70k miles..
I do go trail riding in hills of LBL often but I do realize my capabilties as a driver and as a truck most of the time so common sense is used.
I’ve had 33” pizza cutters 255/80/17s on the truck since around 20k miles..
truck has been lifted since 7k miles with various suspension lifts and AAL combos.
I have been running hammer hangers from archive garage for the last 40k miles.
    I have a 75 lb group 31 battery.
I have performed all routine maintenance close to within time frame recommended on everything besides the ATF as mentioned above.
I run spider trax wheel spacers on all 4 hubs since i installed pizza cutter over 100k miles ago

Blackstone provides a YouTube video explaining the chart and how to read everything for knowledge. The biggest keys to take away is the lab performers notes and write up. They’re very straightforward and critical if something looks bad from other reports I’ve seen online.
All measurements are in (parts per million)
Basically starting at the top going down the first 6 columns are wear metals found in most engines and transmissions.
From 7 column down is the additive pack and cleaning agents that the oil tested still had that were not used up and still actively working
    From left to right
First column is current interval and lab results
2nd column is the truck overall average combined tests (mine is the same bc this is my 1st tests)
The far right is the average for every Tacoma or vehicle with this particular engine (2GR-FKS) they have ran a lab and tested in their database and the overall average interval sent in for those tests are also noted

So you first changed your ATF fluid at 141k and have done it three times total, now you're at 171k?

No my simple math is off :notsure:. I ran factory Toyota WS ATF for the first several years of ownership 141k miles worth. That change led me to 171k which Is this sample. So actually good catch. This would be 2nd time…. Smh lol explaining my drain and fill process threw me math off.. at least that’s what I’m sticking with. I’m on my 3rd run of atf fluid currently but I’ve changed fluid twice now
