Just got a brand new 2011 taco 2 weeks ago. I noticed on all 4 door handle cups outside had a bunch of finger nail scratches...I know I did not put them there so I am leaving my car at the dealer to get it fixed.....Do you guys even care about scratches there? I sure do , since my car is brand new.

I would care if my truck was right off the lot, but they are going to happen. It is what it is.

Get some wax and fix it yourself. They shouldn't be scratched down to the metal, if its just from finger nails, and easy to wax out.

You're right, its going to happen no matter what......YEA RIGHT! Not on my watch ;). I'll have the dealer fix it and then i'll install the door cup scratch guards to prevent them in the future. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150583826231

Took it to the dealer the first time and thats what they just did. They just got wax and tried to buff it out but when i looked at it in the light the next day, there were more scratches there from the first time. I took it in today for the 2nd time and they are gonna use wet sand paper and buff/polish. No need to do it myself when the dealer told me they would fix it for me.

Thats true, if they're going to do it for free. My mom's 4runner has the same problem and we just buff it out but it takes a litttle muscle to get it all out.

    Fall is a potential go.

April is URE time for me, then I gotta cool my jets on the wheeling for a couple months. Gonna be in Yosemite in June making an attempt on the Nose route on El Capitan. Getting set for that is going to eat my May and June time and money.

Then, once I'm back from that, the goal is to get the diffs built and regeared and get an ATO front bumper on this biatch. All the while I'm looking to slowly accumulate recovery and spare parts...

I already have a spare diff, just have to get it built.

Then I'ma be on the hunt for a driveshaft, CVs, and looking to get my spindles gusseted. Not sure I'm gonna bother with LCAs...Kevin says he's knocked the shit out of his and they haven't blinked...

I'm also considering installing a steering linkage upgrade, because the stock stuff...doesn't inspire confidence. Much as I hate to admit it, I like what I've seen of the All-Pro kit...

The driver side where i get in, there are no scratches. The passenger side where my wife gets in, let just say i have repaired it twice. Now i just tape it off and do a bunch of clear coats when she's not looking.

Have you looked at getting clear protective film ? They are inexpensive and worked well for my previous vehicles. This is my first vehicle getting it that way right off the lot.....
