I know there has been some feedback regarding the customer service experience dealing with this company, but that aside, for those of you that have done this mod, are you glad you did it and was the cost of the part and hassle to install it worth it at the end of the day?

I’ve had mine installed for over 3 years with no issues. I was fortunate to not have to deal with any customer service. Not sure if anything has changed, but it was a roll of the dice I was willing to take.

Here’s the thread where people start receiving them. Just start reading every post from, say, post #3222 until you’re ready to make your decision. You’ll figure it out.

I’ve had mine on for two months now and I’m happy with it. I didn’t use the provided hardware, I used the OE upper bolt and installed an identical lower bolt and matched nut, washers and lock washer. I taped the nut in place and tightened it up with no issued. I did use the provided metal grommets to keep the plastic from being crushed. It’s just as solid as the passenger side grab handle.

No experience with their customer service, didn’t need it.

I bought one last year of Marketplace for $50 brand new. The person I bought it from never installed it as he sold his truck because of deployment so I got it cheap. Installing it was easy, I upgraded the hardware and I like it. They have a new one for pop rivets that looks nice. I did however order some door handle bowls with lights and a one touch rear sliding window adapter and their customer service was first class, no issues. I recommend it all the time.

I bought one NIB from a member on here. I didn't have to deal with the BS of getting one.

I really like it, although my lower cover fit isn't as nice as I'd like it to be. I also do need to tighten it up as it has come loose.

I do believe some of the products are quite good, but the marketing / support / communication is a bit lax. I have the bowl lights which work excellent but I purchased the window control module and it doesn't work for trucks with a sunroof. That fact is buried on the website but it's not clearly written (and given that a large number of these trucks have sunroofs, somewhat ridiculous IMHO). I had to call and ask why my module wasn't working only to discover that the moonroof meant it didn't work how I wanted it to. I had to eat a restock fee to send it back.

But on the topic of the handle, I'm ultimately pleased.

2nd that on the bottom cover not staying as tight as it should. I also did not use supplied hardware.
    New in box
Is quite hilarious considering what happened to the box I received.
But I do use it every time I get in the truck.

Installed mine back in September. Shipping was reasonably quick. I didn’t care for the expanding bolt thingy, so I bought my own hardware. Otherwise, no issues at all with KTJO.

I use it every day. It’s one of those items (like the bed mat or larger radio buttons) that should have come with the truck in the first place. Every time you use it, you’re glad you got it.

I bought mine from her store, it’s a two person business so she had a bit of trouble keeping up with supply and demand and poor communication especially in the beginning and that caused her to have a bad reputation on this forum. As far as the product goes I really like it.

Website indicates it's a 7 person business. And lots of posts here indicate there were issues unrelated to supply/demand and poor communication. o_O

When I bought mine at her shop last year it was just her and her sister so it sounds like business has really picked up since then. I’ve read all of the previous posts about her, and because I live less than an hour away I went to her shop to buy the handle. I talked with both of them about what I read on TW and she was very open about how overwhelmed she was and how she could have handled things differently. I’m happy with the handle and would buy more from her in the future but I do have the advantage of being able to buy direct.

I finally wrapped masking tape around my lower cover and keep thinking I’ll take it off and sand it down to fix it someday. Man, that was a good thread though. It’s not often a vendor is so terrible the mods are actively distributing shame stickers and doing, what, a multi-site ban on a maker? (Okay, I’m out, but I’m reminded I still have to do the beach effigy burn of a grab handle facsimile we talked about.)

Mine is good after a few years. I messed up the rivet and contacted her, she responded within an hour and mailed me out a new one free of charge. I also have her one touch power rear window switch, works great, one of my fav mods.

Also have the same handle setup from her for our 4runner.

And you know the airbag operation in the driver's side A-Pillar won't be affected...how?

Part of the original cluster-F here. Been installed for years. Forget it’s there sometimes, except when I occasionally need it.

Fit and finish is a 9 of 10.

I have one installed and it is very helpful getting in and out of the truck. Only problem I had was the top cover didn't want to stay in place. Other than that, I'm happy with it.
