    Yea my area isn't great at all. County/local taxes are $550 a year, but school taxes before homestead is $2200 o_O And I only have a small 1200sqft rancher with 1/2 an acre of land... Everything equals out though. My auto/home insurance is cheaper than those in Maryland. Six of one, half dozen of another.

    WV mountains
    Everything in WV is cheaper than in Maryland. The price difference in property taxes alone is unbelievable. WV wages are definitely lower compared to Md but the cost of living here is cheaper. Fortunately my area of WV is near the Maryland line so I'm making a Maryland wage for a MD company but living in WV. My wife works from the cabin for a medical practice located in Baltimore. She's making Baltimore money without all the Baltimore bs lol.

    Good morning peeps!

    Same for me when I was house shopping. Hanover PA had some nicer houses in my budget range but when faced with the much higher tax bills, I had to look at less expensive houses and those houses were much worse then the ones I was seeing on the MD side of the line. The same thing for a few properties that I found in Glen rock, PA so I gave up on PA and found my "gem" in Carroll County. Meh,, greener grass or something along those lines..

    Glad I met you all here and in real life. Headed down to Florida for a couple weeks on Monday. Then off to Utah, want to try and see if a can get to Houston to meet talons garage to see if he needs a 4cyl 4x4 to take measurements for a cat shield. Then possibly Denver area to look at a couple flat bed options and a camper. Undecided on both flatbed and the camper since there is one in Salt Lake that I looked at last year that I really like.
