The music video of the Beastie Boys' Gratitude is the groups rendition of Pink Floyd's 1972 1-hour concert film Live at Pompeii
The Beastie Boys even copied the Leslie-pattern rotating speakers used in the Pink Floyd film, including their own version of the Pink Floyd London stencil used for the speakers housings.

While the Beastie Boys had the advantage of digital recording equipment, Pink Floyd selected the amphitheater at Pompeii for its acoustic significance as well as it's appearance and history. Pink Floyd's performance wasn't recorded onto quadraphonic 4-channel tape (the best in the industry at the time) instead it was carried on magnetic tape along with the 35mm film being used to record the video images. As a result, many fans have felt they've lost some of the best potential audio performance of the band. The Beastie Boys selected the hot springs and mud pools a Rotorua, New Zealand for their video, mostly as it didn't feel as confined and could connect viewers with a natural state, rather than reflecting on regret or personal history.

While Pink Floyd filmed Live at Pompeii, the Beastie Boys recorded their own version Live at Budokan, simultaneously poking fun of the trite Cheap Trick recording (Live at Budokan), nodding to Bob Dylan's treatment of the famous venue, and decided to give their best to the music video homage of Pink Floyd. The Beastie Boys opened the second half of the set in the famous Japanese amphitheater with Japanese rap artist MC Boo. Following was the first overseas performance of Gratitude.

man, this brings me back about 20 years!
Wifey & I went to see Danzig at a pretty small local club. He was touring for the album “777 I, Luciferi” and Prong was opening.
    Prong was excellent.
Once Danzig got on, he started some shit with a guy from one of the local bands who was originally supposed to play before Prong.
GD threw a temper tantrum and got the local band kicked off the bill.
So, the local bands guitarist was in n the front row of the pit, giving GD the stink-eye and throwing middle fingers.
By the third song, GD had enough and made his way over to the guitarist(in the pit) and began stomping him in the face. Our local guy lost a handful of teeth and the whole incident became a bit of an eye opener for GD fans.

we found out GD was being a bit of prick and the ultimate prima Donna.

About a year later, GD’s drummer - Joey Castillo - ended up playing with Queens of the Stone Age. He played drums for QotSA after Grohl went back to Foo Fighters.

    But, Prong was fucking rad!
